Design
KitchenAid KSM150PSCU Artisan Stand Mixer is available in 40 different colors, and if you’re creative, you’ll choose one that matches your kitchen. Of course, there is a slim chance that it will be available in the exact shade of red that you require. Your best bet is to obtain one that contrasts.
Of course, I’m sure aesthetics aren’t the primary factor in your decision to purchase a stand mixer.
This unit is a workhorse with a larger bowl (and a more powerful motor than the KitchenAid classic). You get to knead more dough with it.
While it is heavier than most stand mixers in the same price range, it compensates by comfortably kneading more severe dough. Again, 26 pounds is not excessive for a countertop mixer, but you will notice it when lifting the unit to high shelves.
The pouring shield conforms perfectly to the shape of the bowl. It’s beneficial when adding lighter ingredients such as powdered sugar or flour, which tend to fly off the bowl.
The shield keeps them on the bowl, making cleanup a breeze. It’s worth noting that the pouring shield is available for purchase separately.
Performance
The Artisan stand mixer features ten speeds for mixing quickly, kneading, and whipping ingredients quickly and easily. When adding ingredients, the tilt-head design enables easy access to the bowl.
Convert your stand mixer into a versatile food grinder that leverages the motor’s power to assist you with various tasks.
The coarse grinding plate is ideal for grinding raw meat for burgers or meatloaf and combining ingredients for homemade salsa, while the fine grinding plate quickly grates hard cheeses and assists in the preparation of bread crumbs.
Cleaning
It’s simple to clean your stand mixer. Coated and stainless steel tools and the pouring shield are dishwasher safe on the top rack.
The bowl may be placed on either the top or bottom rack
Wash wire whips and uncoated tools by hand only. Alternatively, you can hand-wash the bowl and tools in hot, soapy water. Thoroughly dry all devices. Wipe down your mixer with a soft, damp cloth. Clean the beater shaft as well.
