Lemon Basil Smoothie

This week my wife purchased a small container of sorbet for me called lemon basil sorbet. I thought it was delicious and the flavor was very unique as I wasn’t used to tasting basil in a cold beverage. Then I thought this would make a great smoothie because a sorbet is really just a frozen smoothie in many ways. So here is a smoothie recipe for a lemon basil smoothie. I am very curious to get reactions to this one from our readers.

Believe it or not I do post honest, and respectful negative opinions and comments so please let me know what you thought about this smoothie after making it yourself. I must admit I’m getting more adventurous in my combinations and this is a step in that direction.

Lemon Basil Smoothie Ingredients:

• • 2 cups lemon sorbet
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 ounces vanilla yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest (finely grated works best)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil (chopped)
  • 1 cup ice

As usual put in a blender and let ‘er rip. Blend until smooth and when you pour it in your glass be sure to scrape all that tasty basil out of the blender.

This makes 3 servings, but 2 servings is cool too.
