Design
This bread machine has a plastic exterior and a simple design. Hamilton Beach sells the HomeBaker in black or white with a silver base and rubber feet. The bread is baked in a metal pan with a handle that can be lifted out of the machine. Next to a small viewing window, the bread-making machine’s control panel sits on top of the device.
However, there is a minor concern about the size. Specifically, this unit is larger than other models on the market, which means it will likely take up some counter space. However, we do not believe its size is a significant issue, given the price.
Kneading Paddles
This bread maker includes one kneading paddle for use and one spare for storage. This means that if something happens to your first kneading paddle, you will already have a replacement. It’s a good idea to have an additional paddle on hand in an emergency.
Nonstick Bread Pan
The bread pan has a nonstick coating, which prevents the bread from sticking. Simple to clean, but exercise caution not to scratch it. The bread pan has a wider base than it does a depth. It produces a tall, rectangular loaf resembling one made in a bread machine. You insert it into the bread maker by twisting and locking the bread pan in a clockwise direction. By turning the pan in a counterclockwise direction, you can unlock and remove it.
Bread Machine Buttons
The machine is capable of baking loaves weighing between one and a half and two and a half pounds and includes an express mode for baking bread more quickly.
Note: You should be aware that the loaf will be smaller when the express feature is used, and the crust will be thicker. It is best to use this bread maker’s basic cycle if you have the time.
Select one of the preprogrammed cycles using the cycle button. Here are the options:
- Basic
2. French
3. Gluten Free
4. Quick
5. Sweet
6. 1.5lb. Express
7. 2.0lb. Express
8. Dough
9. Jam
10. Cake
11. Whole Grain
12. Bake
Click the crust color button to select a light, medium, or dark crust shade. It is not available for cycles 8–12, which cannot be used on the cake, bake, or whole-grain cycles. It’s self-evident that the dough or jam cycle does not require a nice crust.
The loaf size button is limited to two sizes: 1.5 pounds and 2 pounds. On the following cycles, the size cannot be changed: Quick, 1.5lb Express, 2lb Express, Dough, Jam, Cake, and Bake.
The delay timer causes the start of a bread program to be delayed. It cannot be used with either the express or jam cooking cycles. Avoid using a recipe that contains dairy or other ingredients that will spoil if left in the bread pan for several hours.
The small display screen indicates the cycle number, the remaining cycle time, and the corresponding crust and loaf size using small black triangles.
After you’ve finished selecting the cycle, crust color, and loaf size, press the start/stop button once to start the bread maker. It will beep once, the time will flash on display, and it will then proceed to make what was instructed to make. If you drove an error with your selection, hold down the start/stop button for at least two seconds to cancel the current
Performance
The ten beeps following the second kneading cycle serve as a reminder to add additional ingredients such as fruit or nuts if the recipe calls for them. There is no automatic fruit and nut dispenser on the bread machine.
After the baking cycle, the bread maker will emit another ten beeps and switch to the keep warm cycle (for up to one hour). To cancel the keep warm cycle and stop the machine, press the start/stop button once.
Regarding the delay timer, you can program it to your preferred time so that you and your family can enjoy warm, fresh bread at your leisure. You can program the timer before going to bed and enjoy the new and delicious bread first thing in the morning.
This is especially beneficial during the winter. Consider waking up to the familiar aroma of freshly baked bread while the snow is falling and your loved ones remain at home. Isn’t that quite idyllic?
Cleaning
You’ll appreciate the dishwasher-safe nonstick inner pan. As a result, you will avoid dealing with cleaning, which saves you time. The inner pan features convenient handles that make removing the bread from the pan.
Conclusion
Hamilton Beach offers affordable products, but their high quality, including this bread maker, will impress you. Having said that, this bread machine is built to last, allowing you to experiment with a variety of bread, jam, and cake recipes. Additionally, the unit is covered by a one-year warranty.
The majority of owners seem to be satisfied with its performance and its bread. Hamilton Beach Bread Maker Machine 29882 is a straightforward machine to learn and operate.
