Best hand mixer with paddle attachment

★★★★★ The best purchase I’ve made in a while. I wanted a hand mixer for my new baking prep area that would be as good as my stand mixer. This Breville Handy Mixer DID NOT DISAPPOINT in any area. Sounds silly but the plug alone is to die for! The light to light up your bowl is a very nice extra, along with the ON/OFF POWER SWICH beside the speed controller, (which has 9 speeds). I have found that power switch to be handier than I imagined. I have found no problem with the “scrapers” on the lower part of the beaters that some seem to be concerned about. Also the beater release is well placed in the front, under the handle and very easy to use. Another nice feature is that the mixer snaps into place on the top of its beater container, making it a handy carrying case. It is said to be a tad weighty, but I didn’t think so. It is solid/substantial! That’s what you want in a mixer.In my opinion this mixer has all the bells and whistles you want, need and more, perfectly placed!I highly recommend this mixer. It is well worth the price.

★★★★★ Wow. I own a small bakery buisness and my trusty hand mixer died, so I ordered this one as a replacement. The most I’ve personally ever paid for a hand mixer, but WOWWW! Runs so smoothly and quietly. The light is an added bonus and something I never knew I needed til now, lol. I was a bit skeptical of the weight, as I’d read a couple reviews somewhere that stated it is a little on the heavy side, and I have an arthritic hand/arm. I find it average in weight in comparison to other hand mixers, and have no problem at all with it. The boost function is also nice. I’d had it on a previous mixer many years ago, and have missed it. Nice to have it again on this little marvel! I have had other breville kitchen products and have never had a complaint. Great quality. I highly recommend.

★★★★★ Very Powerful Hand Mixer. Most probably the best hand mixer out there in both design and features. Even though it has a plastic housing it is a little heavier than most hand mixers, but this gives it a very solid built feeling to it. The beaters are very thick and strongly built, so are the dough hooks. The wire whisks are nice too. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. I took it out of the box and had no problem operating it without reading instructions. Unless you use the pause feature it always starts on the very low setting to avoid splashes. And low is truly low. The count up timer is nice. The pause feature is also nice. When using the pause feature and you start it back up it remembers the speed you were using and goes back to that speed as well as the counter resumes. The LED light is a nice feature and I like the fact that it only turns on when running the mixer and during pause. When you turn the mixer off the light goes out. With some appliances the light comes on when plugged in and stays on until you unplug it. The rotary push up speed dial works perfectly. You press it down to get the boost feature. Now to the boost feature: This is the only feature that could have been designed better. Pushing boost advances the mixer to the highest speed while pressing down on the dial no matter what speed you are using. For example if you are on low speed one, boost will advance it to speed nine. A better design would have been to just boost it one or two speeds ahead. If you are mixing dry ingredients on speed one and need a little more power, move it to speed two, not boost or you will get a big surprise. In my opinion boost is not even needed. Just dial it up. I have compared this mixer with two top brands that start with K and with C. This mixer is superior to both of them in both design, features and quality. I have used both of the other brands. If this mixer holds up it will be by far the best. Unfortunately to get all of these wonderful features a lot of electronics are used in mixers these days in all of the top of the line brands. If the electronics hold up in this mixer I hope to be using it for many years to come. It is not as simple as a mechanical on/off switch and speed dial anymore. The mixer is also pretty quiet for a mixer with this power. It has no sharp or high pitched whining sound. For power the mixer out there that is similar to this one is the C brand but not nearly as many helpful features. This mixer is expensive but if your need is for a powerful feature laden hand mixer and also an executive look, this is the one. Everything including the cord will pack away in the storage bin that the mixer attached to. This unit has a very heavy duty cord that swivels to the left and right of the mixer and locks in place. Even the plug is top of the line. It has a hole in the center for easy grasping. Make you think you are in Europe. I can recommend this mixer for all except for maybe an elderly individual with arthritis in their hands that may have trouble with the added weight. While not what I would call heavy it is definitely heavier than your average hand mixer.

★★★★★ Great Mixer. I am very happy with this Breville mixer after reading many reviews. It is much heavier than my old Kitchenaid hand held mixer but it performs much better. I was a little put off by the price as I have never paid this much for a mixer but after using it, it is well worth the extra money spent. The motor is much more powerful and I really like the ease of progressing to a slow mix to a higher rate with a flick of the finger. I could never have made whipped cream with my old Kitchenaid but it is a snap with the Breville. I like the carrying case that holds all of the beaters, whisks and the cord. I also like the extraction beater ring. That is very intuitive and smart design.

★★★★★ Best hand mixer. Now that my wife is retired,she does a lot of cooking. Her old hand mixer bit the dust. We eat at home most of the time for several reasons. My wife loves to cook and is a better chef than most of the higher end restaurants around here. The food she makes is for the most part much healthier and MUCH less expensive and better quality. So, we replaced most of the kitchen appliances this year with top of the line equipment. It makes her happy using the best and of course, I love eating the food she prepares. This is a very nice mixer. The speed controls are nice and the built-in timer and light are truly luxurious options.

★★★★☆ Very nice mixer but faulty design. I love this mixer. It is so powerful for when I have to make my thick monster cookie dough. I absolutely love how the light works. I never knew how helpful it would be. It is extremely quiet to operate. I love the timer display as well as the pause mode.My only disappointment is how the beaters are designed. I love the silicone on them to make it quit from hitting the bowl. BUT, the silicone rips, causing food to get under it which is very unsanitary. I have gone thru 2 sets now. My last set only survived one use. I finally took the silicone off because I needed to use it. The company was good at sending me a replacement set, but I’m not sure if I’d get a third. It’s very disappointing since the mixer cost almost $150!! So, if you plan on using it for thick cookie dough etc I wouldn’t recommend this, only because of beaters.

★★★★★ My old faithful Braun mixer finally gave it up so, after much research, I finally landed on this Breville mixer. It is a lot more powerful than what I had previously so took some getting used to, but it is fairly lightweight, quiet and very easy to change the speed. The scraper beaters do a great job (but you do have to be careful – I covered my counter and backsplash with whipped cream) and they have held up well. The mixing light is actually more helpful than I expected I love the storage compartment so everything is together in a compact space. Overall a great buy.

The features on this unit are all outstanding: QUIETNESS, beaters don’t scratch my stainless steel pots when mashing potatoes, the speed dial so accessible and responsive, timer option is nice touch, the grip on the handle in so comfortable, light such a nice addition, eject button is so easy to use, clean up is a breeze, the shape of the handle allows for the cord to wrap around it and the mixer snaps onto the utensil box which keeps all the pieces in one place for great storage. I have made mashed potatoes, beat batter for cakes and cookies and whipped cream.

★★★★☆ This is quality brand name. I have a preference for their product design. I am crazy for their kettle. This mixer is better designed and made than the smaller versions. It is more power and the power serge is appreciated. I found that the two different mixing paddles are indeed useful. See the application instructions. The rubberized blades are a welcome feature for cutting out unnecessary chatter. The storage case is a nice touch to round out the solution. What a noticeable improvement over my old knock about mixer! Good value at a somewhat higher price.

★★★★★ Top Notch. I’m an experienced cook/baker who uses mixers often. I had a beautiful little Cuisinart hand mixer that lasted 2 years. That mixer was a 220 watt. Then, the motor burned up (complete with smoke issuing forth from the vents) during the mixing of stiff cookie dough. I decided to look for a more powerful mixer. I don’t want a big mixer to sit on the counter taking up room. So I bought this Hamilton Beach because it has 290 watts, fairly powerful for a hand mixer. I’ve used it for only a short while. So far it’s worked very well on stiff doughs and comes with two sets of beaters; the thicker “old-fashioned” ones and the thin ones. Both work beautifully. It also has the container to keep the beaters in. It’s easy to use and stable standing up. It has vents on the front and the back. It does not have a digital readout for speeds; the speed indicator is manual, but I don’t really miss the digital all that much. They didn’t offer white, but the stainless and black combo clean up easily. So far, it’s a great mixer; slightly larger than the previous mixer I owned, but not too big and not too heavy in the least. Comfortable to handle. I hope it lasts for a long time. If not, I’ll put more info on here. Certainly, I’d recommend it. It’s a solid mixer at a very good price.2 YEARS LATERWell, the gear on the left that holds the beater just died. I guess the reviewers who say the plastic gears don’t last are right. Even so, this is a really good mixer, far superior to others, except that it might not last as long as you want it to. If you don’t mind that, you’ll have a great mixer until it dies. In my case, too soon. Now I have to decide whether to get another of these, or just buy a totally different one. I really do love the extra power of this little mixer, though.

Snapped into the storage base, it’s too high for my cabinet so I just store them side by side along with the dough hooks from my old mixer, which fit this one perfectly. Overall, I’m very happy with it. Hamilton Beach is tried and true.

I bought a different one from a major brand and was so disappointed (pretty shell, not enough power for simple tasks, classic modern electronics) that I had to return it. I bought this one instead and it is great!The design is fine. It actually looks a bit better in person, I think. But the power and variety of attachments make this one a winner for me. It whips through everything with plenty to spare.CONS:It looks like there are some plastic gears inside, but this will be the case with anything in this price range. Also, the beaters do not appear to be machine washable from the manual, which is a bit annoying. Given the price point, I still think its a 5/5 though!

I purchased this to replace my old handmixer that had randomly disappeared I used it on Thanksgiving to whip mashed potatoes, make pumpkin bread, . whip cream, and meringue. It worked great for all 4 uses. My step-mother-in-law also used it when prepping Thanksgiving dinner and she was very impressed with how powerful it was and asked me to buy her one for Christmas! I also love the storage case that it snaps on to, it keeps all the beaters together and out my drawers. It is relatively tight to snap on though and can be a little difficult for me. I recommend checking out the Warehouse deals on this unit – I did and was able to save some money buying a ‘like new’ model with just packaging defects.

This is a super cute retro mixer with a great carrying case that snaps into place and holds the beaters, etc…It works great so far and is nicer than I expected. I’m very pleased with this purchase.Update: I’m in my little cedar cabin now. This mixer was the perfect choice for the antique, rustic theme out here. I just used it to make blueberry muffins. Their heavenly aroma is filling the air. This blender performed excellently. No dry mixture puffed up into the air when initially mixing. The batter was light and fluffy when poured into the heart shaped muffin pans. So, I’m very happy.Well, the muffins and hot tea are ready now so I must go. I’m always delighted with a wonderful purchase and this was one. In addition, I have no worries about this item because I purchased the additional 3 year warranty offered. I bought this mixer to replace my 50-year old original US made Sunbeam portable mixer which finally went to it’s rest.The Hamilton Beach is much bigger, looks like a 50s steam iron and feels weird. The plastic handle has an unpleasant (to my skin)feel as if it’s always oily and the power-surge button is placed right where I’d like to get a full hand grip on it. The beaters don’t really need the ejector button as they are not locked into place and can be pulled out by hand. The silver case is plastic, not chrome (who can afford that anymore?) The cord is hard-wired and stiff so it manages to always be in my way.It is powerful and rather loud. The extras are consumer bait. I threw out the ridiculous plastic “case” which was difficult to fit on the mixer. Why the second pair of beaters? And that miniature whisk?!?! (whisks don’t go around in a circle, they whisk) Anyway, I have it and it works ok. Let’s see how long it holds up.
