I love watermelon and the fact that it is only in season for such a short time means I try to eat it as often as I can during the few summer months when it is at its most refreshing and sweet. For some reason I don’t often use it my smoothie recipes even though watermelon is a incredibly healthy food for you.
This delicious food is packed with some of the most powerful antioxidants in nature, including Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Vitamin B7. These reduce the chance of colon cancer, relieve some symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, according to The World’s Healthiest Foods. So here is a summer smoothie recipe featuring watermelon, strawberries and peach flavor.
Peachy Watermelon Smoothie Ingredients:
- 2-3 cups watermelon (seeded)
- 1 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup strawberries (frozen)
- 1/2 cup peach juice (or try 1 peach if you don’t have juice)
Directions
- You know the drill, add to your blender and blend until smooth.
- Makes 2 nice size glasses.
