The air fryer’s stated capacity is 3 pounds or 4 quarts of food, and in my experience, this is conservative. I have no problem stuffing three pounds of chicken breast in a basket without crowding.
Performance
Twin TurboStar XXL launched XXL as its name suggests, measuring 12 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 12 inches high. It has a wide temperature range of 175 to 400 degrees F so that you can adjust the temperature in 25-degree increments using the dial on the front panel.

You need to decide on your preference – do you prefer mainly savory food, or do you want the convenience of baking in a workbench-sized mini oven? If the latter, you may find that the baking tray you requested is an add-on for some models. I believe it’s around $25 to buy separately. The other big difference is that Philips has about 20% less power than Tefal.
However, if you are looking for a home model, choose the standard Philips or the more prominent home model. Price is, of course, a big concern. The Philips HD9721 Air Fryer retails at $200+, but at the time of writing, the Philips Viva Collection Airfryer HD9721/99 can found for $200. As for me, I’m still not sure. I like the look of Philips, size, and versatility.
The price of the Philips Air Fryer is the best but not the fact that it only cooks deep-fried food, albeit with less oil than usual. The Philips Air Fryer is more tried and tested but comes with a questionable reliability record for some components, namely the agitator and lid. No doubt, these components have improved in later models, and you can purchase them separately if they fail outside of the warranty period. The Philips air fryer has a shiny black exterior and a simple digital display. There are also stainless steel details on the temperature and timer dials, which complement the device’s sleek body and give it a premium finish.
The air fryer is quite large at 14.4 x 10.5 x 11.3 inches and 15.08 pounds, but we found it pleasant enough to leave it out on the counter if you don’t have room in your cupboard.

Honestly, there isn’t anything about the Philips air fryer as it is a master of air fryers, probably why their products are so expensive.
This series of machines rarely have any mechanical failure. It works like every other air fryer we’ve used—meaning it got the job done but didn’t let us down.
Cleaning
Many devices come with non-stick coatings that claim to be dishwasher safe because they’re easy to clean. However, that non-stick coating usually has trouble sticking to the appliance and fails miserably. However, the HD9641 is perfect in this respect.

With 4-quart capacity gives you enough space to fit a whole chicken or two bags of chips in the basket. It cooks up to six servings at a time and does it all faster than your oven.
Given that this device looks almost identical to the HD9641, you would expect the same glowing report of performance and cleaning, right?
Performance
Wrong.
Any minor changes Philips makes to this air fryer seem to have hurt overall performance. Whether it is an increase in capacity or a larger basket, or a difference in the materials used in the construction, we are not sure. But there seems to be a severe problem with the smoke coming out of the device during use.
Cleaning
Many consumers report having turned off smoke alarms when using the XXL. And what makes matters worse is that this also seems to make removable parts hard to clean, even if they’re already in the dishwasher.
It should be noted that actual cooking performance is as good as before, but excess smoke is a cause for concern.
