You may not own a coffee grinder and wonder if a Ninja Blender can grind coffee beans. In the article ” Can You Grind Coffee Beans with a Ninja Blender? “, I’ve previously discussed coffee beans and blenders.
This article will focus on whether a Ninja blender can be used to grind coffee beans. Since not all blenders are identical, I wanted to create a blog post that addressed Ninja blenders.
Therefore, I will discuss the various Ninja Blender designs and evaluate how well they blend and grind coffee beans.
Can You Grind Coffee Beans with a Ninja Blender?
Yes, a Ninja blender can be used to grind coffee beans, as would be expected. Ninja blenders are excellent blenders. Blenders only trail BlendTec and Vitamix in terms of quality.
Any premium blender can blend coffee beans. Blenders are not grinders, so I hesitate to say that they efficiently “grind” coffee beans. It is a blender.
If you own a blender and need to grind whole coffee beans but don’t have a grinder, you can do without one. For everyday use, however, I recommend purchasing a burr coffee grinder.
The issue with using a blender to grind coffee beans, such as a Ninja blender, is that the blades on a blender, or any blender, cannot produce a fine grind.
The coffee beans can be ground to a coarse consistency. It is perhaps suitable for coffee brewed with a French press. However, if you desire a finer grind for pour-over or drip coffee, choose the finer option.
Blender blades are not designed for grinding. And you want this when brewing coffee from whole coffee beans. Although nut butter can be made well in a blender, it is not as simple to make.
Which Ninja Blenders Are Ideal for Coffee Bean Grinding?
Despite my dislike for the practice, I have used Ninja blenders to grind coffee beans. Consequently, I have some thoughts regarding the best Ninja blenders. First, when it comes to coffee bean grinding, I would choose a smaller blender. You will have difficulty grinding coffee beans if you have a large Ninja blender.
Not all Ninja blenders will be sufficiently compact to grind coffee beans. I have used the standard, best-selling 72-ounce Ninja Professional blender. And while that blender did work, it was difficult to operate. The primary issue with that blender was its size.
While being large is typically advantageous when making smoothies and other items naturally blended in a blender. It is a disadvantage when utilizing a giant blender.
Don’t even attempt to grind coffee beans in a Ninja blender unless you have one of the smaller models. A bullet-style Ninja blender is better. Choose the smaller blender with the smaller mixing container. The blade will have a more confined space to grind the beans. I, therefore, recommend that you only attempt to grind coffee beans in a bullet-style Ninja blender. Everything else would drive you insane!
What Are the Downsides of Using a Ninja Blender to Grind Coffee Beans?
The primary disadvantage of using a Ninja blender to grind coffee beans is that it is not a grinder. Coffee grinders are fundamentally distinct from blenders. Instead of chopping and blending, they grind. Burr grinders are the most common type of coffee grinder on the market. These grinders are the most capable of grinding whole coffee beans for use in a French press, drip filter, or pour-over filter.
Burr grinders are cheap. They are also small. There is no reason not to have one if you want to purchase whole beans and grind them home. If you do not have a coffee grinder but still desire freshly roasted and ground coffee, I recommend using the store’s grinder.
This is the simplest method. Coffee grinders are available in most stores. These are extremely simple to use. You select your preferred bag of whole coffee beans, open it, place them in the grinder, and choose your desired grind. Most supermarkets carry these. Even large discount retailers such as Costco and BJ’s will have them. I would do this if I did not have a coffee burr grinder. I would use a blender to grind coffee beans as a last resort.
The primary issue is that the coffee will never be ground fine enough for maximum yield. You will receive a coarse grind, even rougher than a French Roast. Just avoid headaches by purchasing a Burr Grinder. Even models are manually operated and do not require an additional electrical outlet. Here is a selection of my favorite burr coffee grinders. You may choose either an electrically powered or manually powered option.
Should You Grind Coffee Beans in a Blender?
No. Except in an emergency, there is no reason to use a blender to grind coffee beans. Feel free to use your blender if you are out of coffee, have whole beans, and need a cup of coffee.
Aside from this, there is no real reason to use a coffee blender regularly. They are not designed for the grinding process. Remember that when making a smoothie, you are not grinding the fruits and vegetables but blending them.
Additionally, coffee beans are distinct from nuts (which you can blend into nut butter in a blender). Because coffee beans lack fat in nuts, a burr grinder is required to grind them into the coffee. I recommend simply deciding if you want to grind coffee beans at home. If so, you’ll have to face the situation and purchase a burr grinder.
