Best steamer with no metal parts. This is an incredible steamer! I told my friend that I was in the market for a steamer, and he recommended this one. I’m thrilled that it has zero metal parts because I was hoping to avoid metal parts. I also trust the OXO brand. I’m currently using this in a 2.5 quart saucepan. It’s a bit small for this steamer, but it’s the biggest pot I have for now. It works. The handles of this steamer fold together like in the promotional picture, and that’s how the whole thing easily fits in the pot after I filled it. When I’m done steaming, I just lift it up by those handles together, and sort of pour my food into my bowl. It’s very quick! Rinse the steamer in the sink, and I’m done. It’s the quickest way to make healthy, zero oil vegan dishes.
Silicone Good… Weebles wobble but… So what. I was looking for a good quality steamer that would last. I did NOT want rust…. I did NOT want something that would come apart in use. I wanted a steamer that I could easily use and that would not cause me any grief. I found exactly what I wanted.Now granted, this steamer is a bit on the “spendy” side compared to some of the little metal ones. But it has great handles and it folds and fits conveniently into smaller pots. It is very heat resistant and works just as good as it looks. I tried it in a smallish 2 quart pot and it fit okay. The sides fold in on themselves and allow it to work as designed…although the capacity is reduced when used like this. If you use it in a larger pot, it holds more.. I found I could manage the handles without burning myself as long as I was careful. The steamer holds its shape well as long as YOU hold onto both handles. It has room for about one inch of water under the steamer….which is plenty for most applications as long as you watch it and don’t allow it to cook completely dry.I would prefer to have slightly longer legs, but if you added additional length there, it would cause the overall height to stick up more and possibly interfere with the lid…. So it’s a tradeoff. I will gladly accept it the way it is. This steamer is best used in a larger pot than I use. A three or four quart pot would allow more internal room for food, keep the overall height usable, and allow more volume for steaming water. NOTE: This steamer is a rubber material (Silicone..). If you don’t observe due diligence and you allow the pot to boil dry….. Well, your steamer will not survive that much dry heat. While there is water in the pot, the actual temperature inside the pot is limited to the boiling point of water (more or less… there is a temperature variation called “latent heat”)…which keeps the silicone from self-destructing. If the pot boils dry, the temperature rapidly goes up and the silicone will eventually melt to the pot. It really doesn’t take very long to steam most things, so just watch it while it is on the stove and you will not have any problems.So, five stars for a well conceived and well constructed item. It does the job, and does it well. If you don’t mind paying a little more for a better “mousetrap”, then you will really like this steamer. Nice item…
Larger than expected. I used it for steaming zucchini. This steamer is for a large saucepan; for example, a two-quart size pot. It is too large for small pots. If you are cooking for one or two, you should know this. The handles curve down to interlock gently and you can lift the whole steamer out of the pot, which is nice…although you must be careful not to get steam-burned. Overall, with those considerations, the steamer device works well.
I always hated steaming food…until now. I’ve always hated to steam food. I tried a few steamers over the years, like the metal ones that you have to use a for, to retrieve and food spills everywhere as you lift it, or the electric one that was hard to clean and a waste of space. Great Product, functions well but I had an issue when using with 6qt Instant Pot. I give this product 5 stars. OXO makes great stuff. It is well made and functions well, but there was an issue that I had when using it with a 6 qt Instant Pot. The steamer handles stick up past the top of the 6 qt Instant Pot (see photo) but I didn’t think this would be an issue, so I put the lid on and started cooking at high pressure but the pressure didn’t build like it usually does.After a few minutes there was some steam coming out around the rim of the Instant Pot lid. I had not seen this happen before so I shut it down, flipped the steam release knob but here was no steam released. I took off the lid and found that the silicon gasket was pushed out of place. I thought that maybe I had not installed it correctly so I corrected this, put the lid back on and took it off again. The gasket was out of position a second time.I believe that the silicon steamer handles had slid outwards along the curved lid andpushed up under the silicone sealing ring, not allowing for a complete seal. I tied the handles over against each other with some string and put the lid back on and pressure immediately began to build. All ok.The OXO Steamer with an 8qt Instant Pot, being taller, should function without issue. To improve this product, OXO could include a silicon handle latch for use in smaller pots perhaps a stainless steel S hook would work. The steamer handles in the photo are a bit lower after cooking the roast than they were before cooking.

Made my cheesecake look professional. When I got my Instant Pot, one of the first things I wanted to make was a cheesecake. I had originally bought an accessory kit here on Amazon but the spring from pan that came with the kit was very thin and I knew it wouldn’t be tall enough to make the cheesecake that I wanted. I searched around and saw this one and figured I would give it a try.I knew the pan was made of silicone but still I thought I might have made a mistake since it dawned on me after I pulled it from the box that the sides would not be stiff and I was concerned that it would not work that well. Since I was having a hard time finding a spring from pan that was tall enough to make what I wanted – I decided to use it and see what happened. This thing worked flawlessly. Since I was making a cheesecake, I cut a circle in my wax paper and placed it in the bottom of the pan and then greased the sides of the pan. I then made the crust and filling and was pleased that it all fit into the pan. I used a lid from a different Instant Pot pan and it fit perfectly on top of this spring from pan (the lid not only prevented moisture from getting into the cake but it also helped keep the silicone sides in a circle shape). I had to be careful when I put the pan into the pot and removed it from the pot but the true magic was when I went to get the cake out of the pan. I just peeled the sides right off the cake and it left a beautiful finish. Even though the glass bottom was made to act as a serving plate, I went ahead and removed mine (which is why I used the wax paper) and it slid right off. I attached a picture of the cheesecake I made with this pan.I read several reviews that mentioned the closure area would leak because it wouldn’t close all the way. I haven’t had this problem. I wash this in the dishwasher and as soon as the dishwasher is finished, I will pull out the glass base, the silicone sides, and the closure and use a paper towel to remove any water left on the items and while the pieces are still warm, I will put it together. It goes back together easily and has no gaps. Maybe because I put it back together while the pan is fresh from the dishwasher? I have made several cheesecakes with this pan and it has delivered for me what I wanted. This was a great purchase for me.

Too large for my 6 qt. Handles prevent sealing. This trivet is very well made, solid base and would work very well to transfer pans (insert cheesecake) in/out of the instant pot. I only gave it 4 stars, however, due to the fact that it will not fit into my 6 qt. pot as it should. I tried to use it, but the handles are not flexible enough to push down into the pot so that they do not push up against the lid, which prevented the pot from sealing. I tried 3 times and my pot blew steam all around the lid, water was surrounding the lid in the lip of the pot, and all the water evaporated. There is no way to connect the handles, as the “red” silicone sling that I also have does, so I am giving it to a friend of mine who has the 8 qt. instant pot. It’s larger than mine shouldn’t affect pressurization and sealing as the handles would be inside the pot and not sticking up out over the top of the pot before putting the lid on. She’s going to love it though.
A Mandatory Item for IP Cheesecake Makers. This is a spectacular invention. I wouldn’t be making cheesecakes without it. Very good quality, easy to use, easy to clean, very non-stick, etc. However, if someone uses it for very watery cakes or other recipes, watery liquids will escape. Works perfectly. My first time to make cheese cake with this device. In other reviews I have read, some had difficulty putting the silicon ring back around the glass plate, difficulty putting the clip on, or the clip slipping out after pulling the pan out of the Instant Pot. Maybe I had a good manufacturing batch as I didn’t experience any of those issues. Or perhaps as time goes on, one or more of these issues will come up. Will update this if that happens. But for now, am happy with this silicon pan.I lined the sides of the silicon and the glass bottom with coconut oil, put my crust in and poured the filling. The coconut oil was to make sure the cake didn’t stick to the silicon nor the bottom. From my experience, it wasn’t necessary to oil the sides. For the glass bottom I would put wax paper. I had to carefully cut through the glass bottom and the crust to get the cake off using a cake cutter. I guess most would just leave the glass bottom until the cake is consumed.Overall, very good kitchen implement for making cakes with your Instant Pot.
Great concept, but flaws outweigh usefulness. Just get a traditional spring-form. Wanted to love this more. Concept is great for Instant Pot, but execution is lacking. 1. Standard spring-form pan at least seals in liquid long enough for it to begin to cook itself – this leaks sauce/batter out and presumably let’s water bath in (fix w foil) 2. Lasagna was easy-to-clean, but bread pudding “stuck” to the glass and required sponge, brush, finally pan-scraper to clean off. 3. Microwave the silicone ring for 60 sex to more easily stretch around glass base. Clip still doesn’t seal the seam, though.3 uses and I’m resigned to making it a Buy-Nothing gift.

I’ve used it 3 times in oven. It has taken twice as long to cook. The silicone actually seems to insulate. I find removing the ring a bit tricky when hot because a bit tight when trying to remove clasp. Made excellent cake and I like the glass as serving platter.The trick to getting it closed back up tightly without a gap is to tug I silicone slightly as you “roll” it back onto glass plate and then edges meet snuggly when you put clasp back on.I know it’s meant for instant pot and I’m sure probably would work better there.

Can use reversible rack with it. I have a 6.5qt. Foodi 14 in 1. I have tried several other silicone steamers + a wire basket. This is the best! The basket is not a snug fit & there’s a reason. The bottom is a bit smaller & tapers down in size. It is adjustable which is a big plus. At first I didn’t like the tapered bottom until I figured out it worked & fit perfectly with the bottom ring collapsed & the stainless steel rack sits on top & then legs fit easily around the steamer bottom. It was exactly what I was looking for.I like to cook two layer meals.. The reversible stainless rack fits easily underneath this steamer with it collapsed 1 level. I steam veggies in the steamer & cook fish on the rack. It works great. That not the case with the other silicone or wire steamers I tried.It folds flat to store. Cleans easily. No odor. I’ve used a regular stainless steamer basket as well as a silicone basket with sling handles — a pork roast slide out of the silicone basket because of the low sides (luckily landed on the stove & not the floor!). Then I found this wonderful, easy to use basket & I love everything about it! It is so easy to remove any food from the Instant Pot as soon as the lid opens & NOTHING spells out because of the high sides. The collapsibility makes it easy to store & it fits perfectly in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. If you use an Instant Pot you need this wonderful steaming basket.

Great quality and very sturdy. Spent ages researching these. This is what you need to know. Firstly, this is made with good grade silicone with no fillers. I’m actually happy I melted our previous Oxo steamer because this one is such an improvement.For us, this steamer checks all the boxes. The whole basket is quite firm and clicks firmly into place, no matter which depth you choose. Use it for steaming veggies in instant pot, also bought it as a reviewer said it doubles great as a colander. It’s very sturdy and collapses nicely which is great in a small space. I use it to strain black beans, chickpeas and veggies. Its pretty much perfect, except that some of the holes in the base of it didn’t get fully punched out when it was manufactured, which makes it pretty tricky to clean out when it has something grittier in it like the leftover water from black beans.
I love this item for my chicken soup and vegetables and other items that I just want to lift out easy. While the price was higher than other strainers for instant pot, this is collapsable and super easy to clean. No cons for this. Able to lift out without burning myself. I put in dishwasher and doesn’t hold any unpleasant smells, like a whole cabbage I steamed for Jewish Stuffed Cabbage.

Broiler Pan. I like the product and it’s construction. The steamer basket and the steam rack are great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there’s not any information available from Instant Pot about uses for the “broiler pan”. I’d like a little more information for the uses. Baking ? Cooking a steak (well, I don’t know about that) ? Recipe suggestions ? SOMETHING. The name seems to indicate “broil” or does it ? Also, another good thing is that it can be ovened up to 450 degrees.. But what about that broiler pan ? Thanks !
Most useful Instant Pot accessories. I have a few sets of similar Instant Pot accessories and this is the set I reach for most often. The trivet has taller stands than the one that came with the pot, and the flexible long handle makes it so much easier to remove the inserts when they are done cooking. I use the steamer basket to cook potatoes, eggs, and vegetables, and the pan to cook grits, oatmeals, beans etc. Compared to the stainless steel stackable pans, this pan is much easier to clean because of the clever way the rims are designed for stacking. If Instant Pot had rolled out this set early in the product cycle, I wouldn’t have bought the stainless steel sets.
Great for one-handed cooking — — — but what is the solid bottom pan used for. I waited and waited for this set to be available for purchase and I’m glad I got it. I just bought a second set to give as a gift with an Instant Pot.I was using the flat metal steamer rack that came with my 6 quart Instant Pot, then I bought a flexible silicone one, and I always had to have my husband help me get them out of the Instant Pot with food on them or I’d spill everything (I have balance problems and use one hand to cook and one hand to balance myself against the counter). With this set I can do it myself! I put the flat steamer rack with the flexible handles in the bottom of the Instant Pot, and the steamer basket on top of that with the food in it. When it’s ready I use one hand to lift the whole stack out by the 2 flexible handles and I don’t even spill any of the food! Must have. My sister has an Instapot and she wanted me to get her this insert as a gift. It came in quickly and it is exactly what she wanted. This is such a handy little set, it should come with the instapot!I use parts of this set almost daily, if not a few times a week, it’s indispensable!▪I love the little dish, I make quiche in it all the time. My favorite thing is you don’t have to add any extra grease, or crust. You just end up with this really beautifully textured light egg dish that’s low in fat.▪The steamer insert is really handy and easy to clean. Think you could stack the dish and the steamer together to do like a pot in pot but I haven’t tried that yet. There’s definitely room for all three inside the 6-quart pot.▪The only thing I’m not 100% crazy about is the rack, the legs get a little Wiggly when it’s hot and there’s something heavy on top of it once it’s out of the pot, there’s no problem inside the pot with it being unstable. But I love it’s extra long, so I’m 99.9% crazy about it, and that makes up for any issues with the wiggly legs. Just be careful if you have something heavy on top of it. I used this for a cheesecake and I don’t think I could have got the cheesecake out in one piece without it. But just be careful when putting putting it on the counter because it might tip whatever you have on top of it.All in all a great purchase, and a no-brainer. It’s brings so much more functionality to the instapot.

This set works great with the Instant pot. Like there are 3 different items and I am finding a use for each one. Like the long handles on the rack/steamer unit. They fold down very easily and do not get in the way of closing the Instant pot lid. I am finding because these are made of silicone material they do not heat up as much as metal ones do and therefore easily to handle. All these items washed well with little effort to keep them clean. Dishwasher safe to but I still choice to quickly rinse them off instead, wipe and put away.
