★★★☆☆ Some issues but they made it right. The media could not be loaded.  It’s kind of the point of the product, isn’t it? I mean the convenience of being able to store the beaters with the machine. However, that’s not how it works, at least not in the one that I received. If the bin doesn’t snap on it’s entirely useless for storage. I can clearly see that the front lip on the bin is too thick to fit in the snap groove on the machine. The back snaps in fine but the front doesn’t, so the weight of the beaters just pulls the back out and the bin falls off. To me this is obviously a defect in manufacturing. However, at this point the manufacturer has not been any help. I’m very disappointed in their customer service so far. They encourage you to contact the manufacturer rather than return the product to Amazon. I emailed them and their initial response was quick, within about 24 hours, maybe a little longer. They asked me to send videos or pictures showing the defect and the product. The video is too large to upload to email, even at 10 seconds. The pictures don’t really show the problem. It just shows a thick lip and a narrower groove which is really hard to determine in just a picture. However, I did respond and I did send them pics and I explained that the video was too large to send via email and asked if they had a drop box or some other method of me getting the video to them. It’s been 3 business days, and a weekend which I’m not counting, and I still have not heard any response. Yesterday, I followed up with plain text email just to ask if they could confirm that they received my message with the pics, in case the pics were blocked or filtered or didn’t make it for some reason. Still no answer. I’m hoping to hear back today. I’ll post an update to this review by the end of the week, at which point I will return the product to Amazon if I don’t hear back from the manufacturer by then.UPDATE: In a last ditch effort I put in a new support ticket referencing the existing support ticket and after receiving two more completely unhelpful replies I referred them to this review so that they could see the pictures and the video and they have sent a replacement for the storage bin and it works. Not the greatest customer service for certain, but not the absolute worst.

★★★★☆ Good little Mixer, Storage tray Handy, won’t miss place beaters. would have given 5 stars but this unit is previous generation and is advertised as 275 Watts of Power, in amazon listing and on the Box but the mixer in the box is actually only a 250 Watts of power, as per the operation Manual Literature and is also marked on the mixer Casing. The current Generation is only rated at 250 watts and is more expensive, only difference is the bowl rest on the casing has wavy surface to accommodate different Bowl Diameters. We were looking for the higher Power Rating, expecting a it would last longer. Oh well we saved Money. Only other issue has to do with Amazon shipping, Box was shipped with out any protection, product Box was the shipping container, arrived with stickers and shipping label covering product information, when removed did come off for the most part, but left a sticky mess. Also box did have puncture which luckily did not damage items inside, so make sure to select extra packaging when ordering.

★★★★★ Top Notch. I’m an experienced cook/baker who uses mixers often. I had a beautiful little Cuisinart hand mixer that lasted 2 years. That mixer was a 220 watt. Then, the motor burned up (complete with smoke issuing forth from the vents) during the mixing of stiff cookie dough. I decided to look for a more powerful mixer. I don’t want a big mixer to sit on the counter taking up room. So I bought this Hamilton Beach because it has 290 watts, fairly powerful for a hand mixer. I’ve used it for only a short while. So far it’s worked very well on stiff doughs and comes with two sets of beaters; the thicker “old-fashioned” ones and the thin ones. Both work beautifully. It also has the container to keep the beaters in. It’s easy to use and stable standing up. It has vents on the front and the back. It does not have a digital readout for speeds; the speed indicator is manual, but I don’t really miss the digital all that much. They didn’t offer white, but the stainless and black combo clean up easily. So far, it’s a great mixer; slightly larger than the previous mixer I owned, but not too big and not too heavy in the least. Comfortable to handle. I hope it lasts for a long time. If not, I’ll put more info on here. Certainly, I’d recommend it. It’s a solid mixer at a very good price.2 YEARS LATERWell, the gear on the left that holds the beater just died. I guess the reviewers who say the plastic gears don’t last are right. Even so, this is a really good mixer, far superior to others, except that it might not last as long as you want it to. If you don’t mind that, you’ll have a great mixer until it dies. In my case, too soon. Now I have to decide whether to get another of these, or just buy a totally different one. I really do love the extra power of this little mixer, though.

Snapped into the storage base, it’s too high for my cabinet so I just store them side by side along with the dough hooks from my old mixer, which fit this one perfectly. We had an old Kenmore mixed finally depart after giving us over 20 years of service.We were hoping to find a mixer that would replace it and seem familiar in hand and in use.Hamilton-Beach has been around for a very long time and we chose a name-brand over many unknown brands being sold.This mixer was a keeper the first time we put it into use.It’s very comfortable and balanced in hand and up to the task with a strong motor.The SS beaters are solidly made and the metal seems a very heavy gauge. The wisk attachment was a treat to get since our old mixed never had an attachment like that.The large storage unit included is very tall and takes up too much space in use (plus it snaps on easily, but, because it has such a strong grip, it is hard to snap off) and for our needs, it isn’t really needed anyway, so we’ll not use it and just store the mixer and beaters in our kitchen cabinet drawer as we did with our old mixer.Very pleased to find a new mixer that we’ve become accustomed to so easily after having our old mixer for so long.5 Stars, the price is right and this is a really decent mixer in design, solidity and materials.

Somewhat lightweight, I haven’t tried a lot of others so I can’t compare it to many others, it’s not super heavy but not super lightweight, It’s lightweight enough for me to use with my hand problems though. It works well. The lowest setting is kind of high, it would be better if the lowest setting was a little lower powered. The highest setting is very high powdered, yet doesn’t slop/spin the food all over the place or outside the bowl, it being small makes it easy to handle, especially compared to big heavy ones. It is loud, sounds like a loud vacuum. But the price was reasonable and it works well. Haven’t tried it with mashed potatoes or anything super thick yet though. Worked well making pudding and to mash eggs into egg salad. So far it seems worth the price.
