Best Food Processor For Pie Crust

Pie crusts are one of the most important components of pies. They provide a sturdy foundation for the filling and add flavor and texture to the dessert. Many people are intimidated by making pie crusts from scratch, but with a good food processor, it is quite easy.

In this article, we are going to take a look at the best food processors for making pie crusts. We will discuss the features you should look for in a food processor, and we will recommend some models that are perfect for pie crusts. Let’s get started!

Our Top Picks

What Is Pie Crust?

Pie crust is a type of pastry that is used as a base for pies and tarts. It is made from flour, fat, water, and salt, and is rolled out into a flat sheet before being placed in the pie dish. Pie crusts can be made from scratch or purchased pre-made.

The most common type of pie crust is made with all-purpose flour, butter, and ice water. This recipe produces a flaky crust that is perfect for sweet or savory pies. To make a gluten-free pie crust, substitute the all-purpose flour for gluten-free flour. For a vegan pie crust, use non-dairy margarine in place of the butter.

There are many different variations of pie crust, so feel free to experiment with different ingredients and recipes. Be sure to always measure the ingredients carefully, as incorrect measurements can result in a tough or rubbery crust.

Making your own pie crust is a fantastic way to show off your baking skills, and it’s also a lot cheaper than purchasing a pre-made crust. Give it a try!

Why Should Use Food Processor To Make Pie Crust?

A food processor can be a great asset when making pie crust. The biggest benefit is that it cuts down on the amount of time and effort required to make a crust from scratch. It also results in a more uniform and flaker crust.

If you have never made pie crust before, or if you are looking for a way to simplify the process, using a food processor is definitely the way to go. Here is a quick overview of why you should use a food processor to make your next pie crust:

It is Faster

Making pie crust by hand can be very time-consuming, especially if you are making multiple pies. A food processor can speed up the process by quickly blending all the ingredients together.

It is Uniform

A food processor will mix the ingredients together more evenly than you can by hand, which means that your crust will be more uniform in texture and flavor.

It is Flaky

The food processor’s blade creates a finer crumb in the dough, which leads to a flakier crust. This is especially important if you are making a dessert pie like apple or peach pie.

So, if you are looking for an effortless way to make a delicious and flaky pie crust, using a food processor is the way to go. Happy baking!

How To Make Pie Crust In Food Processor

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/4 cup cold vegetable shortening, cut into pieces
  • 6-8 tablespoons ice water

Directions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar and salt in the food processor and pulse a few times to combine.
  2. Add the butter and shortening and pulse until the dough looks like coarse crumbs.
  3. Add 6 tablespoons of ice water and pulse until the dough comes together. If it’s still too dry, add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it forms a smooth ball.
  4. Divide the dough in half and shape into two disks. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.

Tips On Making Pie Crust In Food Processor

Making pie crust in a food processor is a quick and effortless way to get perfect results every time. Here are some tips on how to make the perfect pie crust using a food processor:

  1. Start with cold butter. Cut the butter into small cubes and place them in the freezer for 10 minutes before beginning the recipe. This will help ensure that the butter stays cold throughout the process and results in a flakier crust.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the food processor and pulse a few times to combine. Then, add the cubed butter and pulse until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Slowly add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, pulsing after each addition, until the dough comes together.
  4. Remove the dough from the food processor and shape into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
  5. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges or use a fork to prick holes in the bottom of the crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool before filling.

Following these tips, you’ll be able to make a delicious and flaky pie crust that will be the perfect base for any of your favorite pies. Give it a try the next time you’re in the mood for some homemade pie!

Benefits Of Using Food Processor For Pie Crust

When it comes to baking pies, many people swear by using a food processor to make the crust. A food processor can save you time and energy in the kitchen, and it can also give you consistent results. If you have never used a food processor to make pie crust before, here are a few benefits that might convince you to give it a try:

1. Faster Preparation Time

Making pie crust by hand can be time-consuming, especially if you’re making multiple pies. A food processor can speed up the process by quickly chopping the ingredients and bringing them together into a dough. This is especially helpful if you’re short on time or need to make a lot of pies at once.

2. Consistent Results

If you have ever made pie crust by hand, you know that it can be difficult to get consistent results. The dough can be too dry or too wet, which can make it difficult to work with. A food processor can help you achieve a consistent dough that’s easy to work with every time.

3. Less Mess

Making pie crust by hand can be messy, especially if you’re working with sticky ingredients like butter. A food processor can help you avoid the mess by keeping all of the ingredients contained within the bowl. This also makes cleanup easier and faster.

4. Fewer Ingredients

Many recipes for homemade pie crust call for multiple types of flour, as well as other ingredients like salt and sugar. A food processor can help you save time by eliminating the need to measure out multiple ingredients. It can also help you create a consistent dough with minimal effort.

If you are looking for an easy and efficient way to make pie crust, a food processor is the tool for you. With its many benefits, it is sure to become your go-to method for making perfect pies every time.

Factors To Consider When Choosing The Best Food Processor For Pie Crust

When it comes to making pie crust, there are a few things you need to consider getting the best results. One of those things is what type of food processor to use. Here are some factors to keep in mind when choosing the best food processor for pie crust:

Size

Another factor to consider when choosing a food processor for pie crusts is size. If you have a large family or plan to make pies often, you will want to choose a model that has a larger capacity. Conversely, if you only plan to use the food processor occasionally or have a small family, a smaller model may be more appropriate.

Processor Bowl Size

Another key factor to consider when choosing a food processor for pie crust is the size of the processor bowl. You will want to make sure that the bowl is large enough to accommodate all the ingredients for your recipe.

Power

The power of the food processor is also something to consider. A powerful motor can help ensure that the dough is properly mixed and that the blades can cut through it easily. However, a more powerful motor may also mean that the food processor is louder and more expensive.

Speed

The speed of your food processor is another key factor to consider. If the food processor is too slow, it will take longer to make the pie crust. Choose a model that has a high-speed setting so that the job can be done quickly.

Pulse Control

One of the keys to perfect pie crust is controlling the amount of heat that builds up in the dough. Overworking the dough will cause the butter to melt, making the crust tough. That is why a food processor with pulse control is essential.

Type of Blades

The type of blades that come with a food processor can be important when it comes to making a perfect pie crust. If the processor has a dough blade, this is ideal for making pie crusts.

The blades should be sharp and able to cut through the dough easily. Some processors also come with multiple blades, such as a shredding and slicing blade, which can be helpful for other tasks like shredding cheese or slicing vegetables.

Ease of use

You will also want to consider how easy the food processor is to use. Some models come with multiple speed settings and attachments, while others are much simpler. If you are new to using a food processor, you may want to choose a model that is easier to use so that you can get the hang of it before moving on to a more complex model.

Accessories

Some food processors come with a variety of accessories, such as a shredding disc or julienne disc. If you plan to use your food processor for more than just pie crusts, be sure to choose one that comes with a variety of useful accessories.

Reviews

Finally, be sure to read reviews of food processors before making your purchase. This will help you see what others think of a particular model and whether it is the right choice for you.

Warranty

You will want to make sure that the food processor you choose has a warranty. This is important because if something goes wrong with the machine, you will want to be able to get it fixed or replaced.

Price

Finally, price should be considered when selecting a food processor for pie crusts. Models range in price from around $30 to over $200. It is important to select a model that fits your budget and needs.

Making a perfect pie crust does not have to be difficult. By choosing the right food processor and considering all the factors listed above, you can easily make a delicious and flaky pie crust that your family will love.

10 Best Food Processor For Pie Crust

There are many different food processors on the market, and it can be hard to figure out which one is right for you. If you’re in the market for a food processor specifically to make pie crusts, here are our top 10 picks.

1. Best Overall: Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup Food Processor Custom

Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup Food Processor Custom, Brushed Stainless

Amazon.com

We want to begin with the premium food processor from Cuisinart. It contains every feature required for kitchen activities, particularly for dough kneading.

Power is the primary factor to consider. The 720-watt motor in the Cuisinart food processor is powerful enough to perform every essential food processing task. This is regarded as above-average strength and is sufficient to knead the dough thoroughly.

This food processor is handy if you plan to cook for many people. The size of 14 cups is the reason for this. Due to the machine’s large capacity, there is sufficient space to knead the dough without messing.

As previously mentioned, pulse control is crucial to making a pie crust. This processor has three-speed controls: on, off, and pulse. With their assistance, you can control the process more effectively.

Notably, although the food processor has blades of durable stainless steel, the slicing and shredding blades are not adjustable. In conclusion, this is the best food processor for pie crust if you are looking for a large and powerful food processor that can knead the dough and prepare pies.

Top rack of dishwasher. Great food processor—-reliable, easy to clean, easy to operate. Once I washed it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher, the lid now takes more fiddling to get it to fasten down. I guess the heat caused minor warping. It still works though. I would still recommend it.
Great Value and Size. I gave my sister my 6qt heavy-duty Kitchen-Aid processor because I hate appliances sitting on my counters, save for my mixer. I sort of regretted it because I cook a lot and love to make things like falafel, which my blender just doesn’t work well to make. I knew I needed another one, but again, really hate too much on my counters, but still needed something more than a compact, light-duty processor. This fits the bill perfectly! The size is perfect for what I need, it’s powerful, has safety built-in with the feeder (it turns off if you take it out), and best of all, it is easy to clean and once you take the bowl off, it fits in my larger kitchen drawer. I would purchase again, highly recommend.
Great food processor. I love the fact that the lid clips on. No lining it up and turning it. Easy on, easy off!! Love the two different size shoots. Powerful and does not take up a lot of space! Completely satisfied!
Works Great but Just Don’t Drop the Breakable Plastic Parts. This is an excellent food processor for the money, but as they say, you get what you paid for. It grates, slices, chops food, and blends food from fresh veggies. This thing does exactly what it’s supposed to do! I even use it to make brown sugar from white sugar and molasses. It does tend to get stuff stuck up in the lid, but that issue is survivable. Every task in the manual works, but DON’T DROP THE BOWL OR LID ON TO THE FLOOR. This appliance was 100% perfect until the lid parts or the bowl is broken and safety features will not let you use it until the broken part is replaced. The bowl and every part of the lid is made of that clear breaky plastic that cracks, chips, or shatters when dropped on the floor. This plastic is used in dozens of inexpensive countertop appliances nowadays. It’s plastic; not glass so you’re safe. It won’t break, right? And it has safety features so that it won’t work if you cannot get the lid snapped on and if the shoot isn’t in place it won’t run. However, if you drop the bowl and lid and just crack or chip it so that it can’t be locked down or the shoot can’t be put in place, you aren’t going to enjoy any of the features. For breaking it, your punishment is to search the Hamilton Beach website, use your model number, and find a replacement part you need. This process may be so frustrating that you will cry. When you DO find the model number and part number, you will cry again! Just the bowl costs $33.99, add shipping, so you’ll cry in frustration some more! However, when it’s not broken, this thing works GREAT! It does everything it’s supposed to and does it well! I have turned berries and fruit into a strainable mush (to remove seeds to make the BEST jam! Just remember; when you are washing the bowl, lid, and parts, just don’t drop them, none of them.
Food processor. I love this item!!!! Use it a lot, different chopper speeds, different slicer options and the price is right! Very good
BEST Food Processor Ever. I’m a big baker and the Hamilton Beach Processor cuts my time in half, at least. Making pie dough is a snap. Chopping veggies for soup, salad, Italian or Mexican dishes is SO easy and takes half the time to complete the task. Also is a time saver making cookies and brownies.
Happy as a dog with a new bone. I know this food processor has gotten some bad reviews, but I tend to look at the combined total of 4 (15%) + 5 (64%) star rating and that give it 79%. I consider that to be quite good for a rating on Amazon. Then, I looked at the fact the ratings don’t seem to be about anything other than the product it should be about. Lately, reviews for different products seem to be showing up where they don’t belong, which distorts a product’s true ratings. With the reviews just on Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Stack and Snap Food Processor (70725A) and an overall 79% 4 + 5 star rating, I then compared it to other food processors and their reviews. After what seemed like an interminable amount of analysis and sorting through reviews, I selected the Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Food Processor (70725A).I had been using my tiny Cuisanart to do at best 3/4 to 1 cup at a time to puree cooked rice with beef bone broth every 3 or 4 days for the dogs. Pembroke Welsh Corgis for those who want to know. This was really frustrating me since I have to have 1 cup of the mixture per day for the dogs to add to their food. So, enter my having to be out of town for almost 2 weeks and I set out to mix up 2 weeks worth of cooked rice and beef bone broth to leave for my husband to feed the dogs while I would be away. plus an extra day so I would not immediately need to mix up more upon my return. That process with my “miniature” Cuisanart sent my frustration level went through the roof. I was determined to not have to go through that again, thus ordered this Hamilton Beach food processor!Imagine my delight when I as soon as I returned home I realized I apparently had not made up enough for day of “travel recovery” before making more doggie rice/broth mixture. I’m still not convinced my husband did not use more than necessary, but that’s beside the point and I turned to open the Amazon box containing my Hamilton Beach food processor which had arrived while I was gone.I decided to cook up the whole bag of short grain brown rice at once and give the new food processor a try. 5 cups of rice + 10 cups of water = a lot of rice. I divided it into 3 portions figuring rice is sticky, it would probably get stuck to the side of the processor and I wasn’t using a whole lot of broth to combat that. With the first portion of rice in the processor I added about 3/4 cups of beef bone broth, pressed puree, and quickly shut it off! The processor is rather load and made the doggies bark and bark and bark! I stopped the food processor, they stopped barking. I started it again, they started again. I shut the food processor off and put the dogs outside! Problem solved! Within about 5 minuetes, I finished 8 days worth at 1 cup per day of rice/broth mixture. Happy dance! Literally, I did a happy dance!By the way, dogs also digest the pureed rice better than leaving the pieces whole. Just so ya know.Upon returning home, I also had to look forward to processing 5 large and I mean large pumpkins. Also for the doggies! My adult daughter has also been sick, so I offered to process her pumpkins as well – also a lot of large pumpkins! So, the Hamilton Beach has been working almost relentlessly since October 27th. Enough so, that my hands are very dry from constant washing of them, all the equipment, and the kitchen counter, sink, and stove. So, I’ve processed:3 batches of rice/broth puree good for 8 days each for the dogs.98 quarts of pureed pumpkin (55 quarts for our dogs, the balance for my daughter’s dog and family)16 – 1/2 pint jars for adding to homemade spiced chai (my reward when I get to actually sit down)I’m ready to say the Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Food Processor rocks! I’m my opinion.I’ve washed it umpteen times without any of the problems or concerns I’ve seen others state. Maybe I’m being extra diligent because of what and where others have stated they’ve had food get stuck and either can’t get it out or do with great difficulty. I have some small brushes in a jar by the sink for cleaning hummingbird feeders which do the trick quite nicely and easily. The enclosed part on the lid and bowl that create the easy stack and snap feature of this food processor is one area some reviewers have complained about either food or moisture getting into and not being able to get it out or having a lot of difficulty getting it out.Well, I’m not the neatest person as I’m forging through processing our doggies’ rice/broth mixture or processing at least 275 pound of pumpkins. I doubt I’m over estimating on the pumpkins. 98 quart jars and 16 – 1/2 pint jars took 204 pounds of pumpkins and I hauled a lot of 5 gallon buckets half full of pumpkin skin, seeds, and guts outside! Between removing the processor lid to pour the pureed pumpkin into the double boiler to keep it hot for canning it, adding mushy, cooked pumpkin into the small hole the black “large food pusher” creates in the “food chute” for hours on end and I had pumpkin pretty much everywhere on the processor bowl, lid, and large black food pusher. I was able to keep the base quite clean despite the plops of pumpkin on the counter – yay!Despite my mess, the bowl and lid cleaned up easily. Yes, water got into the enclosed parts that create the processor’s stack and snap feature, but it dried, overnight as a matter of fact. I don’t quite understand others complaints that moisture gets in there and never dries. All I can say is that moisture does get in there, but it dried each and every time in mine.I found the key to cleaning the lid and bowl is to not let them sit to allow for any food dry on them. The inside of the bowl can be filled with water to soak if necessary. I was reluctant at first to submerge it in the sink because of some of the reviews, but even doing that any trapped moisture dried. I use the “hummingbird cleaning brush” on part of the “nonremovable motor shaft” in the bowl to make sure all food residue was removed. The “chopping/mixing blade” is another part other reviewers have complained about. I soak it in hot soapy water and scrub! Sponge, “hummingbird cleaning brush,” dish bristle brush, rinse, repeat until I’m confident I’ve gotten all the food from between the plastic and blades. So, far with lots of use, cleaning, and drying I have not noticed any odors or anything of concern. The black “large food pusher” is a bit tough to clean. But, I found soaking it helped to loosen any pumpkin that was stuck inside and then reaching in with a knife and flushing it under running water I could get the pumpkin out.I’m happy as a dog with a new bone with my purchase of the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Stack and Snap Food Processor (70725A). Our dogs also seem very happy with the rice/broth mix and pumpkins from this processor! It’s Corgi approved as well by their owner!
Works great for cutting veggies. Cuts/ blends great. Save a lot of work cutting up vegetables

A moderately-priced food processor, albeit with a weak 450-watt motor. The Hamilton Beach food processor is significantly less expensive than the Cuisinart model, but its power and capacity are inferior. However, in our opinion, it can still provide adequate performance.

Regarding power, this is not the best choice. It has a motor with 450 watts, nearly twice as low as Cuisinart’s. So, do not anticipate a remarkably smooth operation. However, it is still adequate to knead pizza dough, but not for substantial foods.

As for capacity, it is an average-sized food processor with 12 cups. This indicates that it can handle a substantial amount of dough. The sealed bowl and large feeding tube also contribute to thorough food processing.

Blades are an essential feature of this food processor that must be mentioned. The stainless-steel S-blades and reversible discs allow even thick pieces of dough to be easily cut.

Lastly, we would like to emphasize that this is not the most potent food processor available. However, the price is reasonable and has numerous features, so it remains one of the best food processors for pie crust.

Key Features
  • Easy stack & snap assembly: Unique, patent-pending design requires no difficult twisting & locking
  • Simple function guide shows you which blade to use & which button to press
  • Big Mouth feed tube reduces pre-cutting and sealed bowl with pour spout prevents leaks
  • Powerful 450 watt motor
  • Blades, bowl and lid are all dishwasher safe

Perfect. I had a small 8 cup Hamilton Beach processor that lacked power and was very noisy, when the shredding disk broke for the second time in a year I decided to find something better. I went with a Cuisinart 11 cup, which I really wanted to like, but due to the flimsiness of the food chute and food pusher I didn’t feel as if it would last long so I returned it. Yes, this Breville 12 cup is more expensive, but the food chute and the food pushers are so much more sturdy and substantial that the extra money is well spent. This food processor is sturdy, powerful, and very fast! There are different size chutes you can choose, depending on the size of food you are working with. I love dialing down the adjustable blade (love this blade!) to paper thin and placing zucchini and cucumbers sideways so I can make long paper thin slices which are perfect for rollups/sandwiches, zucchini lasagne noodles, and layered salads. Also nice for making your own French style green beans. The food chute is wide and roomy! The adjustable disk, set to #6, slices the perfect burger tomato slice, no more tomato mush!! There is also a setting for storage keeping fingers safe for storing and washing. The reversible shredding disk works very well for shredding cheeses, cabbage, zucchini, or carrots. One size is large, other side is for smaller size shredding.I have been having so much fun using this food processor! It has worked out wonderfully on everything I have thrown at it. The plastic bowl and latches are nicer than what I found on the Cuisinart, it’s a bit taller than their 11 cup which makes it harder to store under the cupboards, but I found it fits perfect with the lid on it if I take the food pushers out of the food chute. I just set them next to the food processor on the counter. There is also a hidden cord storage inside of the base. Just pull the core out through the side when you want to use it then push the cord back inside when finished to help keep your counters neat and tidy.I received a dough blade, chopping blade with blade storage, spatula, adjustable slicing blade, and reversible shredding disk. There is also a removable spindle to use with the blades and disks that doesn’t fall off while emptying the bowl. Very nice food processor, I am so glad I upgraded to this one. It looks great, is well made, and most importantly works excellent!
Why you want Breville instead of Cuisinart. This is a long review and you deserve to have my credentials. I am an ex-Cuisinart owner. The first food processor I bought (because I didn’t know any better; see below) was the Cuisinart Pro and I suffered with that machine for 10 years until the detachable stem broke, liberating me from Cuisinart design flaw hell and allowing me to rush into the arms of Breville, a company MUCH smarter about design. I bought the Breville two years ago and, literally, finally understood why people love food processors so much. My husband and I love this machine so much that when a family emergency recently required us to convert to a commuter marriage, we bought a second Breville so that neither of us would have to go without. It would have been cheaper to get a Cuisinart Prep 9 or a KitchenAid, but the Breville is so superior in design and materials that there was just no way ethically that we could justify supporting another one of those crappy machines into production. If you’ve never owned a food processor before or if you’re looking to replace your Cuisinart, let me make this simple: Cuisinart $uck$ for making anything liquid and Breville doesn’t. If you’ve never owned or used a food processor before, it’s a little bit tough to see what I’m talking about in the product pictures, but basically the Cuisinart work bowl has a giant opening in the center. The chopping blade (which you will use for most things) fits over this hole to attach to the drive train. However, it’s not a water-tight or air-tight fit. AND.. the height of the rim of that hole is MUCH lower than the max capacity of the work bowl. SO… if you are making sauces or dressings or anything else liquid, it will get under the work blade and drain out of that hole making a huge mess and wasting whatever yummy thing you are putting together. Additionally, in the scenario where you are making something liquid and the level is higher than the chopping blade, the blade is essentially the “lid” over that hole and it is NOT secure. Because of this, when you pour the sauce/liquid out of your work bowl you have to hold the blade in place so that your liquid doesn’t leak out of the hole and also so that the blade doesn’t just plop out while you’re pouring. If you’re working with something hot, this is a particularly tricky and problematic maneuver. When you use your Cuisinart shredder and slicer blades, they click into the detachable stem and that stem then goes through the hole in the work bowl to attach to the drive train. Again, this is NOT a liquid or water tight seal to the workbowl. If you already have liquid in the work bowl at a higher level than something you are shredding or slicing, you won’t be able to just trade out the chopping blade for the slicer or shredder blade and party on. The liquid will completely run out and the detachable stem will not seal the hole. That stem clicks on and off of the blades and is a device prone to failure in a number of ways. It was actually the stem breaking on my old Cuisinart that liberated me from my Cuisinart. Yes, I probably could have just replaced the detachable stem, but I’d been looking for an excuse to liberate myself from this crappy product for years, so the stem failing actually did me a favor. It is worth noting that this design flaw persists across ALL Cuisinart food processors regardless of model. It’s a STUPID issue and I can only think that the reason Cuisinart is able to keep selling these products is that people don’t know they are needlessly suffering. I’m guessing a lot of food processor newbies make that investment like I did and then are stuck with it and then when it comes time to replace it, they go with what they know. DO NOT BE A CUISINART SUCKER!Yes, I know.. so far this seems like a review for Cuisinart and not Breville. But you have to understand the issue with the Cuisinart to really, really appreciate the Breville. With the Breville, the drive train is beautifully integrated to the work bowl in a waterproof element. There is NO WAY that this thing is going to leak, whether you are using the chopping blade or the slicer or shredder. The 1,000-watt motor is more powerful than the motors in all of Cuisinart’s products except the Elite line and as quiet as a food processor can be. On the counter, Breville’s sleek design and small footprint makes it easy to keep in ready reach… where you’ll want it.. because once you figure out that a food processor does not have to be a massive pain in the a$$ to work with, you’ll want to use it all the time.Yes, Breville is slightly more expensive than Cuisinart. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET PAYING A LITTLE BIT EXTRA for the dramatically better design of this product. You will have this machine for a LONG time. What is the price of needless suffering? I’m not sure, but I’m guessing it’s a lot more than the difference between the Breville and Cuisinart, especially when amortized over ten or more years.Don’t be a Cuisinart sucker. Refuse to support crappy design. Buy the Breville. You won’t regret it.
*Edit. Used my processor for the first time. It’s very noisy, but also powerful. Easy to set up and use. I used the fine shredding disc and it even did onions beautifully, and no waste! Easy to clean. I am beyond pleased.Just recieved this food processor. The building attendant pushed the box (big enough to put a large person in) into my apartment and took everything out for me. It’s packed like Russian nesting dolls in 3 boxes, one smaller than the next, so no way is this going to be damaged. First the heavy discs came out. Really heavy duty, and handles…no more putting fingers in round circles! Then, the bowl, all marked like a measuring cup. A thing of beauty, and everything appears to be very sturdily made. The attendant then hefted the gorgeous bottom onto my counter where it will live. It’s too tall to fit under my counter with the lid on in the correct but set in upside down it works. The 3 sizes of pusher openings are great. Honestly, I have to say this is the most beautiful appliance I’ve ever had. Even the bloody cord end is unique! Thrre is a hoke so you can pull it out without yanking and putting a strain on the end. It better also be the best working because there is no way on earth I can get this back into the box on my own let alone return it. You really need to be a body builder or put it in one spot right by an electrical outlet and let it live there. Send prayers that it works.
I have used food processors since the mid 1980s. I have gone through 5… maybe 6 of them? This is definitely a huge step up; lot of money for a kitchen tool, but wow.: what a performance. The bowl is larger than my previous one which is great – perfect for soups, batter, and sausage emulsions. And so easy to clean! The chopping blade is super-efficient: did garlic and jalapenos last night, and I ever never seen a machine chop so evenly. The slicing blade has an adjustable knob so you can vary thicknesses… AWESOMNESS! And it works great! I have not yet tried the grater. Oh and also: the machine is so much more quiet than any machine I have owned before! I would very highly recommend it. The base is heavy – such a powerful motor – but that is OK as I leave it permanently on my kitchen counter.
After our old one gave out I decided to spend a little more money and buy a better brand. It’s very easy to assemble and it isn’t rocket science to operate it. At first when I started it up I thought it was making an unusal noise, but after watching a few Youtube videos I realized it was normal. It isn’t really that loud. We love the adjustable slicing blade. Overall we’re happy with the product.
This food processor works very well. It’s also easy to clean and quiet. But the cord storage is a very poor design as the cord jams inside the machine. It’s best to leave the cord out as it’s at risk of being damaged any time it’s extracted. This is a gimmicky design flaw on an otherwise excellent machine.
After the bowl to my 20 year old kitchen aide food processor cracked, (not replaceable), motor still works I was looking for a new food processor. So far very pleased, solid base, easy to use. After making hummus and a batch of relish easily, I am happy with my purchase.

A high-quality food processor with a 12-cup capacity and a 1000-watt motor for intensive kneading. Breville is the most powerful food processor on our list. Therefore, it is not surprising that this item is in high demand. However, it should not be forgotten that the price is also extremely high.

Because of its 1000-watt motor, the Breville food processor is the most powerful on the list. Every task, including dough kneading, is made much simpler by this level of strength. It is equipped with a direct drive control that ensures smooth and thorough operations.

Like the Hamilton Beach food processor, it has a capacity of 12 cups. In contrast, the Breville food processor has three feeding tubes: a 1 12-inch mini chute, a 2 34-inch medium chute, and a 5-inch large chute.

An adjustable slicing disc is one of the unique features we must emphasize. It provides 24 different settings ranging from 0.3mm to 8mm, allowing you to control the thickness of the food.

Price is the only disadvantage of this food processor. It is incredibly costly, so the decision should be carefully considered. In conclusion, we can say that the unique features and powerful motor outweigh the high price, making this the best pie crust food processor.

Key Features
  • Grating cheese and chopping herbs or nuts to mixing batters and pureeing soups
  • 12 cup cap; BPA Free plastic work bowl; Safety braking system
  • Large 5″ wide feed chute eliminates need to precut most ingredients
  • Momentary pulse button for maximum control and even processing
  • 1000 watt induction motor offers great versatility and power in a compact size
  • Prevents the motor from operating unless the bowl and lid are correctly locked in position, and large feed pusher is inserted
  • Voltage: 110 to 120 volts

Very impressed- powerful, quiet, well-designed. I was looking to upgrade from our mini processor to a full-size model, and I’m happy to say that the Braun FP3020 fits the bill. I am impressed by the clean, thoughtful design, as well as the performance. Design: there are lots of cool touches, like a place to wind the power cord when not in use, so it doesn’t drag around. The pieces fit together with a satisfying click, and have a solid, durable-feeling heft to them. The controls are intuitive and easy- the speed adjustment is a big asset, since it helps when chopping harder or very soft foods without mangling them. Another plus- unlike many other processors, this one isn’t nearly as tall (rather it is wider), which means it’s easier to store in a cupboard. The blade assortments is quite complete, and although I’ll probably never use some of them (like the juicer attachment), it’s nice to have. So far it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it, from hard, stale bread for breadcrumbs to delicate, finely sliced zucchini. It’s easy to clean, and the blades switch in and out quite easily. The motor is one of the more powerful ones at this price range, and it really is quite quiet. I’ve always been a fan of Braun appliances, and this processor doesn’t disappoint.
Perfect for a Large Family. I don’t usually write reviews, but I do read a lot as I plan on making purchases. This product definitely deserves a review. I have six children and used my old, trustworthy cusinart food processor almost daily for the last 12 years. As children have come, though, the food processor became too small. I was making mess after mess trying to process too much liquid or processing in rounds to get enough to feed my family. It was time to upgrade to a larger one. I search the larger cusinart and kitchen aide processors before settling on this Braun 12 cup. The main reason was the liquid max capacity. A 14 cup food processor from another brand still might only hold 5 cups of liquid before making a mess, but this one can hold 9. That’s a huge difference when talking about soup or sauce. It reduced the need to puree batches and allowed me to do it all at once. I have used the machine almost daily for two weeks and am in love for reasons I didn’t expect. It’s super quiet and doesn’t wake toddlers on Saturday mornings. The variable speed on the motor allows me to chop broccoli on a slow speed for chicken and rice casserole or puree it on a faster speed to hide the broccoli in potato soup. And you can turn the speed up and down to meet your needs while the processor is running. The blades aren’t disks so they take up less space and the small mixing bowl attachment allows me to process small amounts and get rid of my tiny processor. The juicer attachment isn’t as great as a hand-held, but it does the job fine. That lets me get rid of another thing in my kitchen taking up drawer space. It’s very easy to clean and unlike my trusty old Cusinart, doesn’t have little openings in the handle of the bowl that let food get trapped in and mold. And finally, yes, it really does process 9 cups of liquid without making a mess. That’s thanks to a wonderful design of the center spout that goes all the way to the top. This processor is perfect for my large family. I will have to purchase a coarse slicing blade soon, though, as it only comes with a fine one. That’s good for thin potatoes but doesn’t work for tomato slices or olives.
A different design and a good value. Decided to try this model after seeing some pretty bad reviews for more expensive models from KitchenAid and Cuisinart. After a few weeks, my initial impressions are good, though time will tell how it holds up.Pros:Has done a great job on what we have tried out so far, mostly shredding vegetables and making pestoBowl design is great – much easier to clean than others without grooves or complex internal safety levers or switches to collect gunk. Also, no hole in the bottom means no spillingLightweight – makes it easy to move to storage in the cupboard, yet the motor still seems just as strong as what we had before.Adjustable speed gives more control over what you are processing and how it turns out.Love the mini-bowl and the different size shredding disc inserts. Not made in China, so my fingers are crossed that it will hold up a little bit better.Cons:The white plastic parts can stain. The piece that holds the shredding inserts is orange from processing several pounds of carrots. Some may find that the unit is wide and more difficult to store. For us it is easier to store a wide unit than one that is too tall like other designs. The appearance is not as attractive as some models that come in designer colors or stainless steel. For us, this is not a factor as we do not leave the food processor sitting out on the counter.Overall, I feel like this is a good value, particularly for the deluxe model that comes with more attachments and the french fry maker. Despite having a lower cost than some other models and weighing less than our old one, it still seems to perform well and the bowl seems like a better design and construction than others that rely on a bunch of complex locking mechanisms for the safety switch. Check out other brands and you will see that they use a complex set of levers running through the bowl that connect with a switch or switches in the base to tell it that everything is safely locked into place. Instead, this model uses one switch in the white tower – simple. It makes the bowl easier to clean as well.
We bought this to replace our 48 year old Braun Kitchen machine which still works quite well but is getting noisy and a couple of the attachments have cracked parts or are worn. That machine was a different design, with an elevated drive point to power slicers, blenders, etc. and a removable top arm to power mixers in bowls set on a base below it. The new version powers everything from a drive point just above the counter-top and is more compact and convenient. We also had a couple other “kitchen machines” from other well-known brands because we thought they might perform some functions (e.g., slicing/grating, or mixing heavy dough batters) better but none of them were as well designed and durable as the Braun. We have been using the new device with various attachments for about a month and find it works very well, smoothly and quietly. It is lighter then the old version with thinner plastic moldings and attachments and I doubt it will last 48 years like the old one did, but then I am CERTAIN that I will not last another 48 years.
I bought this and the seller prior had kindly given me the unit height in inches because I needed a food processor that would sit on the kitchen counter and fit under the overhanging cabinets. It’s the only one on the market that does this. It’s an excellent processor, chops well, has many attachments and is quiet. It was about $350 which is an awful lot of money but all the others were too tall and bulky.
This is my very first food processor I purchased for myself. My mom has one from 1999 that is still in use. Never broke down. The only 2 things she ever needed to do was sharpen the blade from time to time and replaced the food processor bowl in over 2 decades. Highly recommend it.
Just received my Braun FP3020 food processor. I had a Braun many years ago that lasted for years with no problems. Recently I went through two Hamilton Beach models (got a great deal on HB) which both died within six months so I decided to spring for a Braun for the reliability and performance I remembered. This new Braun “Tribute Collection” model is smaller than I the one I had before many years ago and fits nicely on my kitchen counter. It runs really well, is very easy to use and so far, I’ve used the dough hook, the fine slicer, the coarse slicer and the miniature chopper. I really love the mini chopper! It’s a great feature not available on my earlier model from the 90s.There are some good instructional videos on YouTube which show you how to operate the machine if you need help as the manual that comes with it isn’t very comprehensive.Great product. Pricey, but you get what you pay for and now having tried other food processors and realizing they have functional problems and aren’t as reliable, I swear by Braun.
This appliance is clearly very high-quality. I can’t stand cheaply-made noisy gadgets. This is quiet, powerful, built sturdy. Already tried it on shredding carrots (BEAUTIFUL, fast and consistent) and making some protein balls. Each task took way less time than expected. Cleanup was a cinch. I can echo what others have said about the white plastic disc getting stained (from carrots and beets), just wipe it with some vegetable oil before washing (don’t let it sit too long) and the stains come right off. I don’t intend to use the juicing attachment because I have a much better-designed juicer already. But for chopping, shredding, slicing, it’s a dream.

An adequate 600-watt food processor with a capacity of 12 cups. Appropriate for simple dough kneading tasks. The Braun food processor is less potent than the Breville model, but it is adaptable and includes a juicer attachment. Therefore, not only can you prepare delicious food, but also your preferred juices.

The first feature we must mention is the 600-watt motor. It is less than some of the products mentioned above, but it is more than sufficient for basic kitchen tasks. It can reach a maximum of 900 watts when pushed to its limits, which is more than adequate for thoroughly working with the dough.

We would also like to highlight the multiple blade attachments and variable speed adjustment. The various blades ensure that the food can be cut easily, and the pulse mode allows you to control the speed of the process for consistent results.

The juicer attachment distinguishes this food processor from the competition. With its help, you can easily prepare your preferred juices.

It should be noted that the Braun food processor has dishwasher-safe components, allowing for easy cleanup. Finally, we can conclude that it is the best food processor for pie crust because it has a powerful motor and the versatile features necessary for dough kneading.

Key Features
  • 600 watts
  • 12 Cup
  • Quick to put together.
  • Silent strength Ultra-Quiet.
  • Energy efficient with low power consumption.
  • Pre-set speed function.

This is MUCH bigger than I expected it to be. I am happy with the size, I just wasn’t expecting it to be quite so big

A pricey yet potent, 14-cup food processor suitable for commercial use, KitchenAid KFP 1466ER is a commercial food processor with numerous distinctive features. However, it is costly, which is a significant drawback.

We want to begin with a dicing kit designed for commercial use. This innovative feature is capable of first slicing and then dicing the food. Thus, all food-related processes are carried out precisely.

An additional distinctive feature of the KitchenAid food processor is its precise slice system. It offers optimized speeds and an external liver that enables quick slice thickness control.

As previously stated, the dough kneading process requires a pulse button. This food processor has three speed settings: high, low, and pulse. They contribute to the proper handling of complex ingredients.

Another new feature is an ultra-tight seal, which provides a locking mechanism to prevent liquid from leaking out of the bowl. It should be noted that this food processor’s price is a significant disadvantage. It is incredibly costly, and not everyone can afford it.

In conclusion, if you want a food processor with many unique features and are willing to spend a lot of money, this is the best food processor for pie crust.

Key Features
  • 14-Cup Food Processor with Commercial-Style Dicing Kit
  • External Slicing Adjustment Lever

  • ExactSlice System

Very powerful and easy to use Food Processor. I replaced my forty-five-year-old Sears food processor with the Ninja 1000-watt BN601 food processor. I followed all the instructions a then I use the processor. My first attempt was to chop celery and onion. I was making chicken soup. The celery and onion came out perfect. My next attempt was pizza dough. It also came out excellent. The food processor whirled it up just like nothing. I also made cookie dough. I made Kolacky cookies. They came out excellent. The dough came out smooth and perfect. The same with the pizza dough. These are the things I use to make with my old food processor and that had a less wattage than this one.It sticks to the counter really well and does not move. It pulled through the doughs with no problem. I cleaned it by hand, and it washes up really nice. Yes, the handle will get wet, but it dries in no time. So far, I am impressed with the Ninja food processor. I will be using it to chop and slice many foods and vegetables. I am glad I purchased it and now I can make some of my old recipes.

Great power and control. Love the horsepower on this machine and its slices, dices and chops really well. The only thing I would prefer is a slightly larger container as ILove the horsepower on this machine and it’s slices, dices and chops really well. The only thing I would prefer is a slightly larger container as I do quite a bit of commercial portions but for home use it is perfect! Very easy to operate and clean in the dishwasher or hand wash.
Sharp blades! So powerful. This thing is powerful!! I had a recipe that I needed to chop up a bunch of dates… tried throwing them in my smaller food processor and it got locked up and wouldn’t spin (dates are very sticky and clump together easily). This thing handled it like a champ though!! Chopped the dates up no problem! I haven’t tried any of the slicing or grating pieces yet. But so far this food processor has handled anything I’ve tossed in it; carrots, chickpeas, peanuts, cabbage. As for cleaning, it’s a breeze! Only a few parts to wash and even the sticky dates cleaned up easily.Be aware the blades are SUPER SHARP! I was using a spatula to scrape the sides (while it was off obviously) and barely grazed one of the blades and it sliced a piece of my spatula off! I have handled the blades extremely carefully while cleaning, being very careful not to touch the blades with my hands. You just have to treat it like your sharpest knife. But that’s why this thing is so great; super sharp blades with alternating angles. Handles any chopping or slicing like a champ!
Versatile and powerful. I love Ninja products. I have a large blender and small processor that have worked for years. I got this one to up my capacity. I enjoy making homemade hummus and needed something bigger to make it for gatherings. This machine performs well and does what I ask of it but there are a couple things I’d improve. The buttons while easy to clean aren’t satisfying to use. I’d rather have actual buttons that physically depress and stay on. It doesn’t whip my hummus as smooth as my smaller machine. Small areas on the bottom and sides are missed by the blades so you do need to scrape if you’re not making a large amount. Other than those things, this processor is great. Easy to clean too.
Powerful and quiet. Money well spent
Facilita mucho el cocinar. Corta muy bien. Me gustaría que el vaso fuera de vidrio en lugar de pero cumple sus funciones correctamente.
First time I use but not working and having speaking very bad don’t buy such a costly product and not performing
Me gustó demasiado este producto ya que me ahorra mucho tiempo en estar cortando la comida como verduras y carne que pica muy bien. Eso si hay que tener cuidado con las aspas que ya van como dos veces que me corto por accidente cuando lo lavo
As an avid home cook, I killed my last food processor after 5 years of use. I bought this one because NINJA has a reasonably good reputation. I really like it! for my own home use its great. I made the Naan bread recipe and it was delicious. I’ve made one loaf of bread easily using the dough blade. Adding a bit more flour helped pull the dough bits from the bowl and blade. It cleaned fairly easily with no areas that got wet on the inside of the handle. It fits together easily and has I nice release button to release the lid from the bowl. It’s a good product! Does it’s job. The only design flaw would be the food chute. Carrots or cucumbers fall to one side of the wide chute. No centre O to slide narrow veggies into. There is also no small hole in the food pusher to allow liquids IE: olive oil to be added slowly for things like mayonaise or milk etc. Its small enough to fit easily on my counter. It’s a keeper for me.

The Ninja Professional Advanced Food Processor is an adaptable food processor that can accomplish much with only a few attachments. This food processor has storage for its disc attachments and weighs less than 8 pounds. It was designed to be both compact and powerful. It mixes dough, slices, and purees, among other foods, and its auto settings allow you to quickly select the appropriate setting for the food you’re preparing.

The base of the Ninja Professional Food Processor is rectangular and takes up minimal counter space. With dimensions of 7.32 x 9.88 x 15.55 inches, this food processor can be easily stored in a cabinet. It has a matte gray finish and a bowl attachment with a clear bowl and a handle.

The Ninja Professional Advanced Food Processor has a lot of power, but the results of our tests were inconsistent, especially when using the disc attachments.

The 9-cup capacity of this food processor easily accommodated an entire batch of cookie dough. It thoroughly and uniformly mixed the dough at every stage, including when a small amount of butter and sugar were added to the bowl. It handled the addition of flour well and thoroughly mixed the dough after a single bowl scrape, leaving it light and airy.

The Ninja Professional Food Processor is easy to use for the most part. The bowl fits easily onto the base, and securing it quickly becomes intuitive. The same can be said for the lid, which creates a secure lock but can be easily disengaged. The rubber gasket on the lid provides an excellent, secure feel. It aids in preventing leaks and minimizes slippage and noise as the lid is secured.

The processor has a chopping blade and a dough blade that both easily fit into the bowl. A disc spindle supports three discs, including grating, crinkle cut, and slicing/shredding discs. This spindle fits easily into the bowl. The alignment of these components is effortless, and their interchange is quick and intuitive.

I am so glad that I finally purchased my Cuisanart 14 cup food processor. It took me months of reading and watching videos to finally decide to buy this brand of food processor. I have not been disappointed one bit! I was really thinking I should save and get a Breville. But I made the plunge that fit my budget much better. I have made pizza dough that turned out wonderful and so fast. I make cauliflower rice all the time. It is so fast and easy. It’s definitely better to try to have your floweretts all cut about the same size. I make butter every week which is delicious and fun and I make home made peanut butter that my husband loves. I also have used it now several times for pie dough and empanada dough. It is super fast and easy and has turned out perfectly every time. It is very sturdy and doesn’t move at all on the counter while I make my dough. It also grates cheese evenly and with very little waste.. Clean up is pretty easy too. I wash it right after I use it, in hot soapy water and rinse well. The only complaint I have is that there are a couple of places that you can’t get in with a towel to dry. But I have found if I just leave it out on a towel for a few hours exposed to the air, those dry completely as well. Also, I have found that if I dry it with a tea towel it comes out shiny and new looking. I don’t use it for chopping garlic, but I tried it once and it worked. It’s just easier to do that by hand with little clean up afterward. I wanted to cover these points for you to hopefully make your decision faster than mine. It works just great and is much more budget friendly. I am very happy with my purchase.
Fantastic Product. Great investment!!! You can’t beat this food processor! It work very well, cleans up well, it’s easy to use. This is a good processor for long term use! I don’t think you can find a better one. Well worth the price!
Simply the best. My 25 year old Cuisinart 12 cup finally wore out. I purchased an off brand machine on sale. It was worthless. It couldn’t chop or puree evenly. It was lightweight and underpowered. I returned it and ordered a larger Cuisinart. The new 14 cup Cuisinart food processor is very similar to the last one, slightly larger but always gives excellent results. There is a reason it is a bit more pricey, it is made well and works well.
Running Review: Very High Build Quality. First impressions of the machine are quite positive and I’ll focus mostly on the build quality.Build:Well into the realm of “I didn’t think they built stuff like this anymore.” Very high quality injection molding throughout. The motor is well balanced: very quiet in operation compared to other food processors i’ve used and very little vibration noted. You can see forging and work hardening lines in the stainless steel attachments. No signs of warping in the lexan. Very good loose interference fit at the feed tube plungers. Overall the industrial design and workmanship of this unit is on par with Zojirushi appliances or Kitchen-Aid mixers.Ergonomics:I like simple food processors. This one is simple in operation. On and off/pulse with high leverage switches. Perfect. The locking mechanisms work well so far without needless faffing. I wish the smaller feed tube was a little larger. The larger feed tube disengages the motor so operations like adding tahini or other messier items slowly have a higher chance of spillage or require a spouted container. I’m suspicious about how easy it will be to trap gunk around the locking mechanisms. I’m also suspicious that there isn’t any sort of loading mechanism to keep the chopping blade in place.Ease of cleaning: The manual recommends washing all pieces in the dishwasher. I don’t have a newer dishwasher with neat little compartments to keep blades from being knocked around so the chopping blade will get hand washed. I’ll update the review to assess how the lexan holds up from several months of dishwashing. I’m not a fan of the stainless steel fascia the machine has since I’d rather have white plastic appliances for their ease of cleaning and smaller visual weight.Power and results: The first thing I made in this machine was a large batch of hummus. Outstanding power and very quiet. The results were extremely smooth. I think I’ll be able to knead dough or make a fine pesto just fine. I’ll update on milling uniformity, grating, and slicing when I try those.
Food processor. Excellent packaging. This is a powerful food processor. It gets the job done & is very quiet. Worth the investment.
Best in class. After my faithful KitchenAid food processor I’ve had for 20 years died, I began searching for a new one. The current KitchenAid model is so freakishly tall it won’t fit on my shelf, and this one had great reviews, so I decided to try it. The size is just right, I can’t imagine anything smaller being useful. The motor is powerful and it works well, things were processed and chopped crazy fast. The plastic work bowl seems a little cheap, and not super intuitive to lock into place, my husband had to come help me wrangle it loose a few times in the beginning. I wish there were different sizes of slicing and grating blades too, but the ones included have worked well for what I needed so far.
A substantial and effective kitchen tool. I was hesitant to buy this food processor based on some of the reviews I saw concerning broken parts and difficulty in using it, but the professional sources rate it very highly. When it went on sale, I pulled the trigger and I’m really glad I did. This is a very hefty piece of equipment. It has performed beautifully for everything I’ve done with it so far, including chopping vegetables, grinding meat and pureeing sauces. I had a less expensive model from another brand which I hesitated to use because it performed poorly enough that it wasn’t worth the cleanup effort. This one is such a pleasure to use I no longer hesitate to pull it out of the cupboard. Like any food processor, it does take a bit of effort to clean, but this one is no worse than the two I’ve owned previously.
Very sturdy. Use this in our commercial kitchen for our cafe. Not a daily use but, it’s really a powerhouse for a smaller unit. Easy to use, relatively easy to clean, very sturdy base, not very noisy at all.
The product is probably great, but I haven’t had the chance to try it because it is not adapted for the EU market. I couldn’t plug it in, so unfortunately I had to return it
Prompt delivery. After my third inexpensive food processor I decided to upgrade to this Cuisinart food processor. I couldn’t be happier! Very powerful motor. Even cuts. Makes meal prep a breeze. And very quiet. I highly recommend it.
I bought this food processor to replace one I already had. The one I had previously was exactly the same model and size. I have had three food processors in the last 35 years or so….the first one was a RoboCoupe and that company was bought out by Cuisinart. The last two were Cuisinart…the original one lasted 25 years and needed to be replaced because the bowl cracked. The second one, the Cuisinart one, lasted 11 years and the motor and everything was great, but the bowl cracked. I cook a lot and use the appliance numerous times in a week. It can handle a lot due to the larger motor, has a small footprint for easy storage, and is easy to clean. I like the bowl size of this machine, the size of the motor, and the construction of the machine. There are some cheaper models from Cuisinart that are made entirely of plastic and have very small motors. Buyer beware. I find the bowl capacity good for what I use it for, but I don’t use it for making bread as I have a KitchenAid mixer and due to the issue with the bowl I will not be grating cheese with it or using it for anything that creates quick torque on the bowl. I called to replace the bowl when it cracked, but the suggestion was to replace the bowl and the lids which would have cost almost a hundred dollars. Even though there are a few minor issues, I feel it is a great machine.

The Pro Classic 7-cup Food Processor allows you to prepare all your favorite dishes, from stir-fries and salads to peanut butter and homemade bread. It comes with a 7-cup work bowl, a cover with a large feed tube for slicing and shredding without pre-cutting, a stainless-steel blade, discs, and a recipe collection. Additionally, it includes a flat cover for processing on the bowl’s base.

The Cuisinart Pro Classic was simple to assemble. The only initial difficulty we encountered was determining how to attach the stem to the slicing and grating discs. Once we figured it out after a few attempts, it was simple and stable.

Except for the lid with the attached feeder tubes, the Pro Classic is dishwasher safe and easy to clean by hand. That wasn’t easy to clean. However, we will overlook this because of the bowl’s flat lid. This feature is exclusive to the Pro Classic, and we believe it makes it more appealing for regular use.

Overall, we deemed the performance of this machine to be exceptional. We would recommend the Cuisinart Pro Classic to anyone with sufficient funds.

Great blender. This thing is a monster. It grinds up ice and frozen fruit in a flash. The feet grip tightly to the counter, so you don’t need to hold onto it.It’s too tall to go under my cabinet with the lid on, so I just take the lid off. It’s loud but works so fast it’s not an issue. The pitchers and lids are easy to align and lock. I had a little trouble unlocking the single serving cup from the base twice, but I have weak hands. It just takes a little extra pressure. The same cup leaked a tiny bit at first so I needed to turn it as tightly as possible and it no longer leaks.I used the dough bowl and blade recently to make beer bread. It kneaded the dough very quickly, with no dry clumps, but it was a little awkward to scoop the dough into the loaf pan because the dough bowl has a couple of ridges on the inside, unlike a mixing bowl. It’s awkward to remove the dough blade, and it takes some time to remove dough from the blade with a rubber spatula. It’s still worth it to me because it’s hard to knead dough with arthritic hands.Overall it’s a great blender.
The best. I recently purchased the Ninja BL770AMZ Mega Kitchen System and I have been blown away by its performance. With its powerful 1500-watt motor, this machine can handle anything from blending smoothies to processing tough vegetables with ease. The 72 oz. pitcher is perfect for making large batches of smoothies or soups, while the 8-cup food processor makes prep work a breeze. One of my favorite features is the 16 oz. single serve cup, which is perfect for making a quick morning smoothie. The cup fits perfectly on the base and is easy to clean, making it a convenient addition to my daily routine. The machine is also surprisingly quiet, which is a huge plus when you’re trying to blend up a storm early in the morning without waking up the whole house.Overall, I highly recommend the Ninja BL770AMZ Mega Kitchen System to anyone looking for a versatile, powerful blender and food processor combo. It’s an investment worth making if you want to elevate your kitchen game and save time in the process.
I love it. This blender is so loud I feel guilty using it when anyone else is asleep, BUT it does a wonderful job. I love the versatility of the small smoothie blender, standard blender, and food processor. Things are liquified in my smoothies in a matter of seconds. I have birds and make them “chop” (finely chopped veggies and grains and etc.) and the food processor makes it incredibly easy. Love it.
Amazing Product. We like this Ninja product. It is very powerful and does everything that was advertised.
Best for frozen fruit! Also super strong and durable. We use only frozen fruit and it’s like incredibly fast at blending them for smoothies! No issues at all.The food processor is amazing! Haven’t had a problem w meat or anything yet! Worth the money.
Great blender, but motor wears out. I’ve had this blender for just over a year now. I use it 2-3 times per week to make smoothies and it works really well. It’s easy to use and high powered which makes blending quick and easy. However, after a year of use the motor in the base stopped working. The product warranty is only 6 months, so I had to call Ninja to get a replacement base. I will say Ninja’s customer support was friendly and helpful. They also gave me 50% off the price of the base, but it was still $50 to replace. It’s possible this is a fluke and my base was faulty, all other parts and accessories have held up well over the past year. Giving this 4 stars because I’ve been very pleased with how the blender has performed over the year and Ninja’s customer service was great.
Really strong machine. It does the job just perfect, it was the best buy for us this year
Used Everyday Since. We have loved this Ninja!! We literally use it everyday and recommend buying it. Wish we had bought it sooner. Works great for bread dough, cookie dough, chopping onions, soups, etc.
They are powerful and handy in the kitchen. I’m impressed. I have used all of accessories for a year now and still working like a charm!
Everything thing works excellent and I actually want to pull out the blender now.
Puedo moler todo con este kit, me gusta porque los aditamentos me permiten moler diferente tipo de comida y cantidades. Me encantó.

This Ninja Kitchen System is powered by a 2-horsepower (1500-watt) motor, which is inferior to the 3.8-horsepower motor of the Blendtec Designer 725, but still produces the desired texture and consistency of blended foods.

Its Total Crushing Technology transforms ice into snow in a matter of seconds and turns frozen fruit into a smoothie with minimal effort. The food processing capabilities of this Ninja Kitchen blender significantly simplify meal preparation. Inside the bowl of a food processor are dough blades that knead the dough for you, freeing your hands for other tasks.

The Ninja blender’s design is uncomplicated, with an essential but elegant appearance. It is approximately 18 inches tall, has a 9.5 by 8.2 inches base, and is only available in black. Its assortment of included accessories (Nutri ninja cups, food processor bowl) are also dishwasher-safe, BPA-free, and made primarily of thick, transparent plastic.

On its base is an almost identical control panel to that of the Vitamix 7500 blender. Here, there are six buttons labeled Power, Single Serve, Pulse, Dough, and Blend. The Ninja Mega Kitchen blender offers four speeds, which vary depending on the selected function.

Like the Oster Versa Pro, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System’s food processor includes its blades. It has a dough blade for mixing dough and a chopping blade for chopping, mixing, pureeing, and grating food.

72 ounces is a good capacity for large-volume blending, making this blender ideal for a family of three or four. The 64-ounce food processor bowl of the Ninja mega blender is also ideal for making dough, as it can hold up to 2 pounds of it and can finish mixing in as little as 30 seconds.

9. Hamilton Beach 70730 Bowl Scraper Food Processor

Hamilton Beach Food Processor & Vegetable Chopper for Slicing, Shredding, Mincing, and Puree, 10 Cups – Bowl Scraper, Stainless Steel

Amazon.com

The Hamilton Beach Bowl Scraper Food Processor, 10 Cup, makes food preparation simple. From its extra-large feed chute to its bowl scraper, it mixes, purees, chops, and performs other operations rapidly. Its price point of $55 makes it an affordable option for many home cooks, while its compact design makes it appealing to those with limited space.

The compact design of the Hamilton Beach Bowl Scraper 10 Cup Food Processor makes it easy to store in a cabinet. Its dimensions are 7.50 x 9.50 x 13.50 inches, so it occupies minimal counter space and can even fit on surfaces beneath overhanging cabinets. It weighs only 6.9 pounds, making it very simple to lift and store when necessary.

This food processor’s 450-watt motor reached 93.9 decibels, making it one of the noisiest machines we evaluated. Although noisy, the food processor passed all our tests with flying colors. It chopped onion in precisely three seconds and with uniformity.

This machine was surprisingly effective at mixing cookie dough. The addition of flour did not tax the motor, and it effortlessly blended all the ingredients.

Again, the scraper assisted in removing ingredients from the upper portions of the bowl, but scraping was required in the bowl’s base. We pulled the scraper and finished the dough with a spatula.

This food processor is simple to operate. Its chute has arrows to help you find the correct alignment, and although it requires some force to lock the bowl and lid in place, the process is simple and intuitive.

The blade and discs fit without difficulty on the motor shaft. We had to consult the instructions to determine how to install the bowl scraper, but the process is straightforward. The bowl scraper’s turning latch on the top of the lid rotates easily. During each test, the scraper moved quickly.

Hamilton Beach 70730 Bowl Scraper Food Processor provides excellent value for its affordable price. Its motor efficiently handled all our tests and has multiple power settings. The machine is moderately simple to clean, and its 10-cup capacity allows you to take on larger food preparation tasks. However, the bowl is still compact enough to thoroughly blend cookie dough and smaller recipes, such as hummus.

The convenience of the bowl scraper is one of the machine’s primary selling points. Since the scraper does not reach the bottom of the bowl, its utility is limited. When preparing a recipe like cookie dough, you must still use a spatula to combine the ingredients thoroughly. Nevertheless, the scraper can clean the sides in between spatula scrapings. This is a minor flaw, and numerous other advantages make it worthwhile to purchase this machine for a reasonable price.

Key Features
  • Large feed chute means less prep work.
  • 10-Cup Capacity Bowl; Ideal for most of your home cooking needs
  • Reversible Shredding/Slicing disc and S-Blade for chopping, mixing and pureeing
  • BPA-Free, dishwasher safe bowl for easy cleanup
  • Compact design means it won’t take up your entire countertop

Great value, great machine. Waited to review this until I used it for a while because the price was hard to believe. I have made peanut butter twice (it will make you throw rocks at the stuff in the jar), Catalina dressing twice, pie crust, relish, and bread crumbs and I was satisfied with all of the results. The small container is a big plus if you are making a small amount of something; ingredients mix together well and clean up is easier. I have not used the grating, slicing or emulsifying parts yet, but since I have mixer attachments and a top notch blender I don’t need them anyway (reviews on these were not stellar). Overall a great purchase and one I will be using a lot.
I waited to long…. Update. I feel terrible. I found the extender inside another piece. So scratch this poor review.I bought this product for a specific holiday recipe one year ago. It worked great for that large job.Today I wanted to grate cheese and I find no “adapter” for the discs in the box. All the graters are useless without it. Damm it.I can probably buy a new one for another $20 or $30 dollars but NO I should be sent one for free but it’s been over a year. I guess we’ll see if they will be good enough to send it to me.I hope so.
Heavy duty mixer. Suction cup base. Lots of attachments. Easy to use. Great value for the money
Very pleasantly surprised. I’ve never used anything but a Cusinart food processor. The one I had lasted over 20 years. When the work bowl cracked, and then little pieces started to break off, I discovered that replacement work bowls weren’t being made anymore. Went to buy a new Cuisinart processor, saw a lot of complaints about the food chute and generally lower quality, and decided to look for an alternative. And here we are. This food processor is great!! It took a little retraining because the handle and cover line up on the right and my old one was in the front, but otherwise it’s straightforward to use, the food chute is a snap, I love the reversible blades, and it’s easy to clean. Plus, and this is a big deal to me, it weighs soooo much less than my old processor! I haven’t used it for bread dough yet and that will be the real test, but for everything else it’s just as good as my old Cuisinart, and has features that are far superior. Annnnd, it costs less too, which was a bonus.
Works as promised. This processor is the absolute best one I have ever owned. The mini processor that sits in the large container is absolutely perfect for those quick processes for small batch prep.It comes out easily for the big jobs , the ability to choose from multiple blades for a variety of jobs, along with excellent power and smooth operation makes this processor a must have for beginning through well seasoned cooks.
Excellent. This GE food processor is great. It’s not loud, chops evenly and grinds the pecorino Romano fine.I had the Hampton and was very disappointed from the start. I bought it because of the reviews and it’s even listed in the top 5 however, I have know idea why. I highly recommend this one for a few dollars more
Great product. Exactly as expected
Like my grandma, can only handle soft food. After only three months the blade would not turn. The nut on the base of the bowl spun and stripped out. Lesson, not good for shredding cheese, a feature that should not be an issue. The motor seems more than powerful enough, but combined with CPS(cheap plastic crap) it fails. I will give them credit for shipping new part out quickly

The design of the GE 12-Cup Food Processor is sleek and basic. All its controls are positioned on the big front dial. The dial’s pulse, low, high, and off settings provide straightforward control over the unit. Wet or greasy hands make the dial’s surface slippery; a textured surface would be an upgrade to its design.

This food processor functioned admirably in most of our testing, and the 550-watt motor never felt weak or underpowered. It attained 85 decibels, making it a tranquil and pleasant-to-use machine, even during extended tests such as hummus puréeing.

The bowl was too large for pureeing hummus, although it performed well in most other tests. The big bowl allowed the hummus ingredients to disperse, preventing the puree from reaching a fine texture.

Ultimately, the dough was smooth and well-blended. Because the machine lacks a dedicated dough blade, it is probably not the best option for chefs who frequently prepare the dough.

The GE 12-Cup Food Processor is powerful and silent equipment. Its dial power control provides it a sleek appearance and makes it easy to use, while its bowl and spindle design make cleanup simple.

This food processor readily passed most of our tests and came with a basic assortment of attachments for blending, chopping, shredding, and grating. Its higher capacity makes it perfect for various food preparation chores, such as mixing cookie dough and chopping large quantities of materials, but not for smaller jobs, such as preparing hummus. This model is affordably priced at $129 and offers exceptional value.

Key Features
  • Large, 12-cup, 550-Watt processor with an ergonomic handle.
  • Easy to use with two speeds and pulse mode.
  • Keep your counters clutter free with built-in power cord storage.
  • Suction cup feet always keep the food processor in place, so you can mix and more without worries.
  • Cleanup is easy with a dishwasher safe bowl and accessories.

Best Food Processor For Pie Crust – FAQs

This depends on your needs and preferences. Some processors are better at making delicate crusts, while others are more durable and can handle tougher doughs. Be sure to consider the size of your food processor, as well as how often you plan to use it.

There are a few tips and tricks to making the perfect pie crust. First, make sure your ingredients are cold – this will help prevent the dough from becoming tough. Second, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking. And finally, use a sharp knife to trim the edges of the crust so it looks polished and professional.

Yes, you can use a food processor to make pie crust. In fact, it’s the perfect tool for the job – the dough can be easily mixed and rolled out in the food processor. Just make sure to avoid overmixing, or your crust will be tough.

Yes, you can make pie crust without a food processor. However, it will be more difficult to mix and roll out the dough. You may also find that the crust is not as smooth and evenly textured. For the best results, use a food processor.

It is possible to make a pie crust with a blender, but this is generally not recommended. Blenders are not as effective at handling doughs as food processors are, so your crust may end up being less-than-perfect. If you do choose to make a pie crust with a blender, be sure to add plenty of liquid ingredients to help the dough come together.

Here are a few tips to help you make the perfect pie crust:

  • Use cold ingredients. This will help keep the dough from becoming too sticky.
  • Don’t overmix the dough. Overmixing can result in a tough crust.
  • Be gentle when shaping the dough. You don’t want to overwork it or it will become tough.
  • Bake the crust on a well-greased baking sheet or in a pie pan that has been lined with parchment paper or foil. This will help ensure that the crust does not stick to the pan.
  • Bake the crust at a high temperature for a short amount of time. This will help ensure that the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Here are a few common mistakes to avoid when making a pie crust:

  • Not using cold ingredients.
  • Overmixing the dough.
  • Being too rough with the dough.
  • Not greasing the baking sheet or pie pan.
  • Baking the crust at a low temperature for a long time. This will make the crust soggy.
  • Not baking the crust long enough. This will result in a crust that is not fully cooked.

A food processor-made pie crust will last for 2-3 days if stored in a sealed container in the fridge.

There are three different types of pie crusts that can be made in a food processor: standard, French, and gluten-free. Standard pie crusts are the most common type, French pie crusts are made with butter and have a richer flavor, and gluten-free pie crusts are perfect for people who cannot eat gluten.

The benefits of using a food processor to make pie crust include being able to mix all the ingredients together quickly and easily, as well as having the ability to evenly distribute the dough. Additionally, using a food processor can help to prevent over-mixing, which can result in a tough crust.

The only disadvantage of using a food processor to make pie crust is that it can easily over-process the dough, which can lead to a tough crust. If you are careful not to over-process the dough, however, this should not be a problem.

Some tips for using a food processor to make pie crust include adding all your ingredients to the bowl at once and pulsing the machine until the dough comes together. Additionally, it is important to not over-process the dough, as this can lead to a tough crust. Finally, be sure to turn the dough out onto a floured surface before rolling it out to your desired thickness.

The best way to store pie crust that has been made in a food processor is to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in a zip-top bag. You can also freeze the dough, which will keep it fresh for up to three months. Just be sure to thaw it before using it.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that a food processor can make light work of creating a flaky pie crust. But is it the best tool for the job?

For many bakers, the jury is still out. While a food processor can certainly save time and effort, some argue that it does not always produce the best results.

If you are still undecided, the best way to decide is to try it for yourself. Make a few pies using both a food processor and your usual method and see which one you prefer.

Whatever you decide, remember to enjoy the process – after all, that is what baking is all about!
