Benefits Of Uisng Meat Slicer For Jerky

Making jerky is a popular way to preserve meat and can be a delicious and healthy snack. Jerky is typically made from lean cuts of meat sliced into thin strips and then dried. This process can be done manually with a knife but using a meat slicer is much faster and easier.

There are many benefits to using a meat slicer for jerky, including:

Speed

Slicing meat with a knife can be time-consuming, especially if you are working with a large amount of meat. A meat slicer can help you save time by quickly and easily slicing the meat into thin strips.

Even

Slicing meat with a knife can often result in uneven strips. A meat slicer will ensure that all stripes are even, which is essential for creating consistent jerky.

Safety

Slicing meat with a knife can be dangerous, mainly if the blade is not sharp. A meat slicer is much safer and will help you avoid accidents.

Quality

A meat slicer can help you create high-quality jerky that is evenly sliced and consistent in thickness. This will help ensure that your jerky turns out perfect every time.

Investing in a meat slicer is a wise decision if you are interested in making jerky. This kitchen appliance can save you time and effort and help you create delicious and healthy jerky.

Factors To Consider When Choosing The Best Meat Slicer For Jerky

Before purchasing a meat slicer for jerky, it is essential to consider the following factors.

Price

The price of an item should always be one of your first considerations. Always choose the most effective meat slicer within your budget. While some are more expensive, many are great for those on a tighter budget.

A meat slicer represents an investment. However, we believe it is a worthwhile investment, especially if you consume jerky frequently. In the long run, purchasing a meat slicer is less expensive than buying a package of beef jerky.

In addition, you will be aware of the exact ingredients, and it will likely be the healthier option. Moreover, it is more environmentally friendly.

Ease Of Use

Because of its ease of use, purchasing a beef jerky slicer is one of the primary reasons to do so. The purpose of the meat slicer is to reduce preparation time.

It is essential to ensure that the appliance fits you correctly. If the meat slicer is an attachment for a cooking appliance you already own, it should be compatible and straightforward to attach.

Quality Of The Materials

A quality meat slicer should expedite the preparation process rather than prolong it. Additionally, you should purchase a meat slicer that is simple to clean. This will significantly simplify the cleanup process.

While a giant meat slicer is ideal for larger batches of beef jerky, quality is of utmost importance when selecting the optimal meat slicer. The overall quality and usability of the meat slicer are more important than how much beef jerky it can cut at once.

The quality of the materials used to construct the meat slicer is crucial. Ensure that it is made of metal or plastic for durability. This will help ensure that the item is durable and of high quality.

In addition, each component should function properly. For instance, the handle of a manual meat slicer should be easy to manipulate. The blade must be sharp to cut through your meat easily.

The materials should always be safe for use in the kitchen and of food-grade quality.

The Type Of Meat Slicer

As you can see from this article’s selection of meat slicers, various options are available. You should select the option that best suits your needs and way of life.

Here are the various types of meat slicers on the market:

Manual

This type of meat slicer is more conventional.

Manual meat slicers are portable and do not require electricity so they can be utilized anywhere. The only disadvantage of these meat slicers is that the meat must be cut manually.

However, they tend to be safer to use.

Electric

Electric meat slicers are the most convenient and quick option for purchasing a meat slicer.

These are likely to be more precise than manual meat slicers, and the pressure is cntrolled automatically. You must manually apply pressure with a meat slicer, whereas this device will do so automatically.

An electric meat slicer produces precise and uniformly sliced meat. However, the blade would eventually need to be replaced when it becomes dull. It must also be plugged into the electrical outlet. This restricts where a meat slicer can be used in the kitchen.

Simple To Clean

Even though the ease of cleaning may not be a deciding factor for you, it is unquestionably a factor you should consider.

If you purchase a difficult-to-clean meat slicer, it may harbor harmful bacteria, mainly if you use raw meat. If the bacteria are transferred to other surfaces or food, it can lead to foodborne illnesses such as food poisoning.

The best option is a meat slicer that can be taken apart quickly or has a blade that can be removed. This will allow you to clean each component thoroughly.

Safety

When purchasing a meat slicer, it is imperative to consider safety, especially if you have young children. A meat slicer is exceptionally sharp. Given this, improper use of the slicer can result in serious injury.

A good meat slicer should have an instruction manual explaining its use in detail. In addition, it should include comprehensive safety instructions.

Most meat slicers should conceal the blade so that it cannot potentially cause harm. If the edge is accessible, however, care should be taken when employing it. We recommend keeping the meat slicer out of the reach of children after use.

Dimensions Of The Jerky And Cutter

Consider both the size of the jerky and the quantity you intend to make with the meat slicer.

If you are only preparing small quantities of beef jerky, you may not need to purchase a large meat slicer. A giant meat slicer would be more appropriate if you intend to make large quantities of jerky.

A giant meat slicer would significantly reduce your slicing time. You should not force an excessive amount of meat through a smaller meat slicer, as this will likely cause it to break.

In addition, you should consider the size of your kitchen and the available storage space. If you have ample room, a larger slicer is an excellent choice. If you have limited space, your meat slicer must accommodate this.

Accuracy

Depending on the size of the jerky you wish to create, a quality meat slicer should provide you with quality meat cuts. When searching for a high-quality meat slicer, you should find one that consistently produces uniformly sliced jerky.

This is especially important if you are slicing raw meat, as you will want the meat to be uniformly sliced so that it cooks evenly and thoroughly.

Slice that jerky. I bought this jerky slicer after reading a lot of reviews. I recently started making both beef and pork jerky after watching a Meat Church video on making jerky. The inexpensive pork top loins from Costco seemed to be a good starting point since a failure would result in under $20 waste of ingredients. YouTube consumed a lot of my time so I could get a decent first batch. Trimming and slicing the meat was quite laborious with the partial freezing of the meat then trimming fat and slicing 1/8″ or ¼” portions of the meat with lots of variation and inconsistent results. Still, it was fun. After about six batches of jerky, I noticed in some of the YouTube videos that folks were “cheating” the slicing process by using this apparatus to get consistent thickness of their jerky slices. I was not sold so kept watching more videos and then after my most recent jerky batch, I had such variation in quality of slices that I decided to go through reviews on Amazon.Lots of positive reviews and some negative reviews helped me take the risk of ordering the unit. Negative things that I was concerned about:- Meat getting stuck in the slicer- Super sharp blades that might compromise the integrity of your skin- Challenges cleaning the blades after usePositive comments that made me take the risk:- Consistency of slices- Quickness of slicing the meat- Ease of use- Slice without having to partially freeze the meatYesterday was my inaugural use of the slicer. I crosscut 5 pounds of eye of round in approximately 1″ slices in a matter of 5 minutes, then ran each of those slices through the jerky slicer in about 10 minutes. It is amazing how quick and easy that was.My observations regarding the negative and positive points in previous reviews:- The slicer is super easy to use, and the non-frozen meat sliced fast.- When meat got stuck, I simply reversed the crank a partial turn then cranked normally, and the meat went through just fine without continuing to be stuck.- The slices were all the same thickness (bonus for dehydration times)- The blades are scary sharp. As an older person, my skin cuts very easily so I am hyper aware of sharp things. I came close a few times to cutting myself while cleaning the blades, but that awareness kept me out of trouble. Hopefully when I become more comfortable with the slicer, I will not forget to pay attention or there will be human blood in the sink 😊- Cleaning the body of the slicer is a piece of cake. Cleaning the blades is scary. Why Weston did not include a cleaning brush puzzles me.I highly recommend this slicer if you make jerky in any volume. It is a time saver and adds some consistency that adds to the appeal of the finished product.
Shockingly good product. Easy to use, perfect cuts, very uniform. Cleaning wasn’t bad. Very happy with this purchase!
Wonderful jerky slicer. Great purchase. Sturdy. Cuts perfect slices of meat for jerky making. Fast and simple to use. Love it.
Makes cutting jerky easy but cleaning is not great. I bought this to save the time off freezing and personally slicing meat. I love the size of the slices and the ease of break down and put back together of the product. My only issue is the cleaning between the blades. I wish they would include a good brush to get in between the blades.
Jerky Slicer: Very efficient – extremely sharp blades. It comes requiring assembly, which is fairly straightforward following the instructions and you’ll get used to it, since proper cleaning requires disassembly after use. The manual repeatedly warns of the sharpness of the blades and they are indeed extremely thin razor-like discs on two shafts that could easily cut someone badly if mishandled. I did end up buying NoCry Level 5 Cut Resistant Gloves here on Amazon, just as a safety measure for the future.Once assembled, it works brilliantly. Using top round steaks ~3/4″ thick and cut to a max of 5″ wide, the steaks went through the slicer like butter – just a light turn of the handle and it practically fell through the slicer onto a plate below in nicely uniform thickness slices. It took only a couple of minutes to slice up 6 lbs of steak. Cleaning it took about 15 minutes, on the other hand, due to the need for disassembly and being extra cautious with the blades (both to not cut myself or to damage the blades).
Horrible product. Bought this product as a Christmas gift. My husband went to use it, and it was horrible. He spent more time trying to pull the meat out of the machine, and he was extremely frustrated. Unfortunately I’ve missed my return window, but definitely do not waste your money on this product.
Great backup jerky slicer. I have an electric jerky slicer that attaches to a LEM meat grinder. Wanted a manual one as backup for shtf scenarios. This slicer works every bit as good as my electric one, probably faster and easier. Another great item for the prepping bunker. Going to order an extra set of blades just in case
A cut above. I love smoking meat and always wanted to smoke jerky. I used to use the dehydrator, but smoking definitely is superior. When you smoke with a large smoker you need a lot of product. It’s wasteful if you’re only putting a pound of meat in so when I smoke jerky I’d like to smoke 5 to 10 pounds at a time with my large smoker. Kind of difficult to do if everything has to be done by hand. I saw this jerky cutter and decided to give it a try and man does it work. It’s simple it’s easy easy to clean. You gotta watch out its very sharp. You can cut a finger off with this thing if you’re not careful but the blades are enclosed inside, so unless you’re the kind of person that has to go poking around where your fingers shouldn’t be, you’ll be fine. All I can say is this machine has allowed me to cut up 8 to 10 pounds of meat to make jerky in minutes some thing that would literally have taken a day to do before. I love this.
Its quick and easy to use
Muy funcional y muy buena calidad-precio
The only thing wrong with this order was that the The Handle Thumb Screw was missing.
Will make thin slices of beef ready for jerky. Would be better if they were a bit thicker slices. This machine does NOT like fat and it will get stuck inside the rollers then you have to dismantle and clean before it works again. I suppose you get what you pay for.
the item seems well built, just does not work well, easier to do with a knifemakes a mess of the jerky ends up more like hamburger at end of each strip

Great slicer. Especially for the money. Just received my slicer today. Arrived in perfect shape and no issues with the blade that some other reviewers cited. It came fully assembled. I just had to remove the blade to wash it and I was ready to go.Thin-sliced a pound of cooked, rare rump roast, a white onion and a tomato. Not a problem with any of these. I am very pleased with the performance of this slicer. Especially for the price.UPDATE: Now I have used it to thin slice deli-style corned beef (tip: steam your corned beef until about 10 degrees below minimum USDA safe guideline. Let carryover cooking do the rest and then refrigerate until thoroughly cool before slicing against the grain. Boil it or oversteam it and you’ll have shreds instead of slices). I also used it to slice Wisconsin brick cheese which is a tough mozzarella sort of cheese. Not good results when right out of the fridge. I put it in the freezer for about 35 – 40 minutes and got perfect slices from the Cusimax.Buyers must realize before purchasing that this slicer is not a multi-thousand dollar Hobart. It is a home use unit made for light, occasional use. We’ve all seen the deli counter people speed through our orders of cheese, cold cuts and other items. This machine is not that kind of machine. If you want that machine be prepare to stroke a four figure check. Realize that the motor on this unit spins rather slowly compared to its commercial cousin so you’re not going to bang out five pounds of turkey breast in 10 seconds. You need to run your items through more slowly. On the other hand if you want to occassionally slice up a pork belly, whole ham, corned beef, turkey breast, etc I see no reason to spend more money.Other positives are: the suction cups on the bottom of the unit held it fast to my concrete kitchen counter, cleanup was fairly easy and it is light enough and small enough that I can easily move it from the kitchen counter to one of my kitchen drawers.
Pretty good. My slicer came “renewed” which I wasn’t expecting but I’ll deal with it. The slicer seems fine. It was clean and there was no damage, so oh well.It is somewhat loud but that’s okay for me.Today I sliced some turkey that was purchased from Sam’s Club. The dial was pretty hard to adjust so be ready to use some elbow grease. I thought you might need to press down to adjust it but you don’t, it’s just really sturdy which can be a good thing. Anyways, with the dial about halfway to 1 you can slice nice thin to shaved slices. It depends on how light or hard you press on the meat as you slide it across the blade. Let the the machine do the work and just hold lightly. You can’t get the smooth operation like you could out of a commercial slicer so consistency could be a struggle with meat. I worked at a Lenny’s Sub Shop when I was younger so I’m familiar with slicing things. The turkey turned out fine for me, just gonna scoop it together on sandwiches and add a few toppings.I also cut an onion on about a 4. Those came out nice so I’m sure tomato’s would be fine too.I even cut an apple on it. It struggled but did cut through. I should have cut the apple in half though or better yet by hand so I don’t break the thing. Now, the handle is somewhat odd. It’s more for when you have something small to cut like an onion. I wound up using my hand to guide or hold the meat when cutting the turkey because there was no room for the handle/guide. I put it on towards the end once I got down to a smaller piece of meat. It just sets right on top of another piece, no unscrewing anything. Not sure about bread. Personally, I would recommend getting a bread knife for that. And, I haven’t tried cheese yet but as long as it’s thawed and you go easy with it, it should be fine.Cleanup is really easy. All you need is a damp rag and about one minute. The manual clearly says to NOT use anything frozen, half thawed, or hard like bone. It’s really common sense. Also, it says not to use for more than ten minutes at a time. The power could be stronger but you could also pay a few hundred more for that with a commercial slicer. So, for me, I think it will suffice. I just hope it lasts. And, I need to figure out how to sharpen the blade eventually.P.S. – I got my turkey at Sam’s for less than $20. About $4 per pound. The amount of meat will last me a good two weeks. All I have to do is pay for bread, mayo, black olives, etc. Cheap stuff.Kroger wanted $10 per pound, not sure about Walmart. This thing will definitely save money. Just watch where you buy your meat and be easy with the thing.
Great little slicer. Lite, Strong, very portable & easy to store and clean. Great little slicer. Light, Strong, very portable & easy to store and clean.I have have had and used commercial slicers when I owned my business and I compare this little slicer to thecommercial types that weigh 35-60 pounds and cost $500-$1000 or more. This Cusimax slicer weighs around 6 pounds and can easily be put into a large cabinet in your kitchen under thecounter or such. That’s great in itself. The blade is 7.5 inches and can handle most meats for a full slice,, remember to rotate the meat every so many slices by just turning the meat a 1/4 turn as the meat will start to cut on an angle over time when pushing the meat into the blade. I did a nice beef roast on the BBQ and smoked it for 5 hours. The roast was about 6 inches in diameter and 8 inches long. I sliced it thinly and rotated the meat a quarter turn every 5th piece or so. I didn’t use the safety meat push deice as the meat was too long. TO BE SAFE I only had my fingers on the end of the roast furtherest from the blade and also resting on the meat holder to keep my fingers away and secured to hold the meat in place until smaller, then I used the safety device. The blade is sharp and you must take safety in cutting and cleaning. All said and done for the inexpensive price on a residential meat slicer that is convenient, strong and portable and easy to clean, I give it 4.5 out 5 stars.Only down side and I am still experimenting is the suction cups on the bottom stuck really well but my counter must of been slippery and the machine moved a little too much as the machine is very light. I rather the machine be light and easy to move and store. Clean up was fairly easy.
Nice machine, like the two different blades for different products to slice..easy to clean. A btw loud but nice even slices.
The media could not be loaded.  Firstly as a whole, I love this! I tried ham, pepperoni, cheese but can also do veggies, bread etc.. It did a great job and you could do a decently thin cut compared to other machines. IT’S EASY TO CLEAN! As in, you just need a butter knife to turn 180 and take off the blade to wash and the other parts lift up so easy. The sound isn’t loud and everything is simply to understand. It’s also made to be super safe, you are protected from your fingers. The ONLY reason I’m giving it a 4 is that the plastic gripper that holds the meat isn’t strong enough so the bigger meats have a hard time staying on for the cuts. You can see it in the video I shared, it slips off quite a bit. If it had strong prongs that grip into the meat that’d be ideal. But it did great for holding the small meatsOverall pleased for the first time use
El producto realiza las funciones para lo que fue comprado y realmente me asombro gratamente ver como rebana bien. Unico lado no tan positivo es que la consistencia en los niveles bajos no es tan correcta debido al poco grosor de la parte inicial del corte.

Convenient and easy slicer. Product works as described. Excellent for slicing cooked foods such as roast beef. Much easier to clean than other systems as the meat falls directly behind the blade into the included tray.
Great slicer. This is a great slicer for the money. So far I’ve used on about 10 lbs of jerky meat, and 5 lbs of homemade bacon. Pretty quiet and slices quickly and evenly. Setting 5 for jerky and setting 4 for bacon was perfect thickness for us. Cleanup doesn’t take long. I also ordered a non-serrated blade, but the serrated one cuts just fine so haven’t put on the smooth one yet. I’m happy with my purchase.
Decent slicer for the price; get 4 yr warranty. I bought and tested 3 of the more affordable deli slicers. This Chef’s Choice unit model 615a, the OSTBA (ASIN B07S5R3HHVyy) also sold on Amazon, and the Weston Meat SlicerItem 1469157 sold by Costco.I am replacing the Chef’s Choice model 607 (discontinued?) which I bought 3.5 years ago on Amazon. The plastic hub onto which the blade screws broke and was not easily repairable. The two units that were not chefs choice were also not properly cleanable. There are parts the food touches (particularly the guide plate) that you can’t remove for cleaning, as well as crevices where food particles might hide. I felt it was a food safety issue. This chefs choice unit disassembles in more places the food touches so you can properly clean and sanitize it.While this Chef’s Choice unit still has many plastic parts that are a build quality issue that might eventually lead to breakage, for the price (plus adding on the 4 year extended warranty), I still feel it is worth it.In addition, there are several improvements with this model vs model I bought in 2020. The blade is more fully covered to protect your fingers (the one I had looks different then the one currently pictured, I wonder if they made some changes but kept the model number. I have already trashed my old one so I can’t post pictures), the underside is a solid piece which might keep food off the countertop better.
Simple to use, light weight, perfect for apartment use. I had to choose between this and the the Beswood 10″ Premium Chromium-plated Carbon Steel Blade Electric Deli Meat Cheese Food Slicer. Due to its price I bought the Chef’s Choice slicer. It is a bit small and light weight. I have used it and and it works really good. Slicing a 10 lb turkey, the machine has a bit difficulty cutting very thin slices. you need to push down hard enough to make enough contact between the blade and the pushing tray. It did the job but I was not convinced its worth. I ordered the Beswood 10 the next day to compare. Though the Beswood 10 costs twice as much, it also performs much better. Since I don’t have storage problem in my kitchen, I keep the Beswood and return the Chef’s Choice. I want to say the Chef’s Choice is an excellent machine. My decision was more of a personal preference. I like the Beswood due it its weight and ease on pressing down the meat as you slice. If you live in a small apartment and you need to tuck away your appliances, the Chef’s Choice would be the perfect machine to own.
smooth cut paper thin meat slices. nothing to complain; perfect effortless even cuts; make sure that the meat is half frozen and use the no serrated blade for shabu shabu or Chinese hot pot meats. leave the serrated blade for bread cuts, which is not often used.
Very nice. It works just as it should. There has been now problems.
Slicer. Nice little slicer…works pretty well for it’s purpose…is it a professional kitchen or deli slicer..no…but for slicing up the occasional ham or uncut piece of meat it works great…alittle pain to clean and it is a little bit bulky for storage but otherwise it’s great.
Meat wraps around the drive gear smothered in lubrication. I bought this meat slicer after arduous long research to make organic jerky treats for my dogs with a dehydrator since pet treats prices have been going up insanely. Initially, the meat slicer seemed to work well but at the end of slicing, I noticed that some meat got stuck between the blade that I had to pull out. When I detached the blade for cleaning, I was horrified to see that the plastic drive gear underneath was wrapped around with raw beef and the meat I pulled out was probably tainted with lubrication that looked like blobs of white shortening. The entire saw base plate was a huge mess with meat fragments and blood combined with the lubrication that’s hopefully food safe for the contaminated meat slices but the manual only mentions using Vaseline for plate lubrication and no extra lub was supplied. I used wooden toothpicks to pick out all the meat fragments from the gear slots and checked the reviews to see if anyone else reported the problem with meat getting lodged behind the saw blade. Since nothing came up for meat wrapping on the gear, I tried again with thicker cuts and tried grabbing each meat slice as they were coming out the back through the slice deflector, but some meat still managed to get caught into the blade, again making a mess. I also noticed the edge of the blade support paint was ground down from the back side of the saw blade exposing the base metal from cutting a few pounds of meat that 1st day I received the unit. Whether this particular slicer was a lemon or not, I couldn’t imagine keeping it and dealing with the bloody unsanitary mess. I sent it back for a refund that day. I’ve since resorted to slicing half frozen meat by hand and realized that it is actually much quicker than using a meat slicer including the cleanup, and my dogs absolutely love homemade jerkies.
muy satisfecho con la compra, tamaño para el uso en casa y uso familiar esta muy bien, incluso me atrevería a decir que es útil sin problema para un negocio pequeño, como una tienda
I’ve been using the Chef’s Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer for a few months now, and it has completely changed the way I prepare meals for my family. I find myself using it multiple times a day – it’s that useful! It’s great for quickly slicing cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots for coleslaw, and it makes it easy to salt cure pork and slice it thin for charcuterie. I’ve also used it to turn roast beef and pork into sandwich meat in seconds, and it’s perfect for slicing bread and cheese to any thickness. One of the things I love most about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. All of the major moving parts can be easily removed and washed in the sink. As a pro tip, I’d recommend purchasing the circular blade option for better micro-thin slicing of softer foods, and be sure to wear cut-proof gloves while using the slicer to stay safe. You may also want to invest in some food grade grease to keep the blade lubricated in certain parts – the unit comes pre-lubricated, but after multiple cleanings you will need to lubricate one or two points. Don’t worry, this takes all of 10 seconds every 4-5 cleanings. One thing to note is that the Chef’s Choice 615A is made of a mix of heavy plastic and metal, which makes it sturdier and quieter than many budget slicers on the market. The blade is also extremely sharp and can slice most anything paper thin.Overall, I highly recommend the Chef’s Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer. It’s a great value for the price, sitting somewhere between budget slicers ($100) and professional belt-driven slicers ($700). It’s a kitchen gadget that you’ll use practically every day, and it will eventually pay for itself as it makes it so much easier and more cost-effective to prepare meals at home.
It was a beautiful product unfortunately the UK power voltage doesn’t compete with it, so I have to make the return. The seller has one of the best e-commerce customer service I have ever seen. Very supportive and very professional!
I like how thin it cuts the meats. Just do NOT try cutting through thick bones as this unit is NOT designed for that. It cleans up nice and easy too. Perfect for slicing hams, bacon etc.

Fine, Inexpensive slicer. This is a consumer product but it does a great job. The stainless steel surfaces are easy to clean and it cuts well! The blade is large enough to cut most things. I make bread and it is great for slicing a loaf of brerad. Great product!
Great for home use. I order this meat slicer mainly to cut thin slices of ribeye, brisket, or pork belly for hot pot or kbbq at home. I usually buy a large cut of meat at Costco then cut it up and stir it in the fridge. The slicer is sharp and works well but I do need to slide it through the slicer with some force which sometimes I don’t feel safe doing especially since the suction does not hold well on by butcher block. It’s easy to disassemble and clean for the most part but there is a small area under the slicer that the meat gets stuck in all the time that is quite difficult to reach. Overall, I would say it’s a good price and quality for something I use maybe once every month-two months.
Solid, affordable light-duty slicer. I bought this slicer after my previous one died and I couldn’t find a replacement gear to repair it. Soon after the purchase, I used this one to slice 7-8 pounds of Canadian bacon. I cut some of the bacon about 1/8″ thick (see photo) and then I readjusted and sliced quite a bit nearly paper thin. The slicer comes with two blades, one of which is serrated and supposedly works better on slightly frozen meat.Part of your success with this type slicer depends on how quickly you spot “issues” and come up with a workaround. For example, when you start your slice the leading edge of the blade that first touches the meat is rotating downward, holding the meat firmly down on the feed tray. But after you pass the blade’s center, that trailing part of the blade is traveling upward, which tries to lift the meat upward. What i discovered was that after I pass the blade’s centerpoint I can reduce pressure on the meat and the blade doesn’t lift it nearly as much. If you buy any slicer of this design, you are going to run into issues like this. Various Internet forums can be invaluable in finding tips like this.I knocked off one star for Safety and for Ease of Use only because this is a light-duty slicer. Yes, there are ways to hurt yourself. While the unit is easy to use, there are always features that would make it easier to use, such as some way to better hold the meat down against the feed tray and keep it from spinning when you get down to the last few slices. The truth is that such features would increase the price, so they’re available if I wanted to step up and pay for them.Bottom line is that this is a solid unit and offers good bang for the buck.
Stellar kitchen slicer. I’m writing this from the perspective of having used a Hobart commercial slicer at a busy deli counter. This thing is cheap—very cheap—but it’s excellent for many home uses.Commercial gear is designed to survive constant heavy use for years on end. They have heavy duty mechanicals that operate at high speeds effortlessly. Commercial slicers are also fairly quiet. That is not this slicer. It is not a deli slicer. This is made of lightweight metal pieces, has a small, noisy motor that drives a plastic gear train at high torques, and the blade spins relatively slowly. That’s what you get for this price.Pros:Inexpensive.Small, lightweight, and easy to move.Easily performs many kitchen slicing tasks better than any other tool I have used, including decent knives, mandolines, and food processors.Disassembles easily for cleaning.Cons:Needs lube. The slide did not come with sufficient lubrication, so I bought a tube of the recommended food-safe Petro-Gel (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TWJ2L0/), and that works well.Too light to stay in place. It has suction feet, but it can move, especially if the slide is not lubed well.Small. If you want to slice anything wider than about 6″—the distance from the slicing tray to the top of the blade—it won’t fit this slicer.Must be disassembled for cleaning. Small crannies must be cleaned with a brush.I have used it so far to slice bread, blocks of cheddar and other cheeses, firm vegetables, and small cuts of tender meat (chicken breasts and such). For these uses, it’s quite competent, and I much prefer using this slicer to any other tool.I am giving it five stars because, while it is cheap, I think it is a very good value for kitchen tasks, and so far I am very happy with it.
Works great. I’m enjoying the meat slicer! Easy to operate and easy to clean! Great value!
Not a clean cut. It cuts ok! But crumbles. Not what I was, looking for! I send it back and they took about 3 weeks to credit my account. TERRIBLE service
Does the Job. The slicer works as advertised, seems to be of good quality, and generally does what it is intended to do. It is relatively easy to clean, but is definitely not something you will want to do every day. Works great for slicing up a whole batch of jerky, salami, or smoked meat, but getting consistent paper-thin slices requires a fair deal of finesse as the slicer is mostly made of soft, pliable plastic and the tray, thickness adjustment knob, and even the knife tend to move and bend at the slightest application of pressure, resulting in inconsistent thickness of the sliced meat. The slices become a lot more consistent with some practice, but a sturdier build would go a long way to improving the product. At the very least, the adjustment knob should lock in place so that it does not move while slicing. Still, for a home slicer, with some practice, it does the job well.
Well worth the money. This is a very durable slicer. Works perfect from cutting pepperoni to cheeses. Easy to clean.
Más que suficiente para uso casero.
Xmas gift for kids. They are very happy with it.
Je crois que le système d’entrainement en plastique brisera en moins de 2 ans et le moteur est vraiment bruyant.

Great slicer – Easy to clean – not too heavy. This is our first slicer, so didn’t know much going in. My husband wanted something heavy / commercial grade. I wanted easy to clean, not too large, and light enough to be able to move from the counter to storage shelf. This is not commercial, but works perfectly for us. Easy to use right from the beginning – in fact, I use it more than my husband does. Safety features are good – I did get a couple pair of safety gloves, which I put on every time I’m going to slice or to clean the blade. We have sliced both ham and turkey – slices can be paper thin, or any thickness up to approximately 1/2 inch. I’ve also sliced Swiss cheese, and bakery rye bread. All perfectly sliced. Now we don’t have to buy pre-sliced products, and feel that we’re getting better quality food for less money. The rubber feet keep the slicer firmly in place on the counter. It is lightweight enough that I can put it away and take it out easily. Although, so far, we’ve used it so often that we have not yet put it away. Cleanup is easier than I anticipated. The blade is easy to remove (while wearing safety gloves). To clean the machine, it’s easy to wipe down, and I use a small brush to get into the crevices. To clean the blade at the sink, I wear a rubber oven glove, and use a scrubber brush to clean the blade under running water. So, I would recommend this slicer if you want one that is handy for slicing a variety of foods, not too large for kitchen use, and easy to clean with good safety features.
It works great now. This item had been returned but was the only one left, so I ordered it anyway. When I used it the first time, I noticed that the guard slid up and in a little at the end of a slice. I mentioned it to my husband, who is an industrial engineer, and he took it apart to discover that a small part was sheared off on one side but he 3-d printed a new one and now it works perfectly
Good quality for a cheap slicer. It works well, is pretty easy to clean, and has sufficient power to cut everything I’ve used it on so far (smoked brisket, ham, turkey). The only thing I don’t like is the travel length for the sled. I had to cut brisket in half to be able to slice it because it was wider than the sled would slide. While it is pretty well built, it is a cheaper slicer, as a result there is a little variation in the thickness of the slices if you don’t provide constant pressure as you cut. I noticed it most when I was shaving ham with paper thin slices.
Easy. I have been buying chunks of meat that needs sliced. This is great. It is easy to use, cuts cleanly and can be adjusted to your preferred thickness. I haven’t tried it yet for bread but will be soon.
Works great. Easy to use and works great!
I Love it. I debated on this slicer for several weeks,,, which one to get. I want to be able to slice ham, cheese, and what ever else I want to slice but I am not a heavy duty user. I wanted to get the best one for our needs and this really does hit the mark. I don’t have a lot of counter space so I wanted to be able to store it without having to have a muscle man to move it. This one is light enough for me to move to the pantry for storage and back out for use. It does a very nice job and is very simple to clean. I like it a lot!
Extremely Disappointing and Unsanitary – Stay Away from the Weston Electric Meat Slicer. I recently purchased the Weston Electric Meat Slicer with high hopes of simplifying my food preparation process. However, I am utterly disappointed with this product and would give it zero stars if I could. The overall quality is abysmal and the design is shockingly unsanitary. One of the most glaring issues with this meat slicer is its construction. It’s evident that the product is cheaply made and lacks durability. The flimsy meat backing plate that is supposed to hold the meat securely in place is a complete letdown. It feels like it could break at any moment, making the slicing process not only frustrating but also potentially dangerous.Speaking of danger, the unsanitary nature of this slicer is a serious concern. The design flaw that allows meat juices to seep into non-removable covers is a major problem. This creates a breeding ground for bacteria and makes cleaning the machine thoroughly an impossible task. It’s simply unacceptable for a kitchen appliance to be designed in a way that compromises food safety. What’s even more infuriating is the lack of consideration for cleaning in the design. The meat tray, a component that undoubtedly comes into contact with raw meat and its juices, is shockingly not removable for proper cleaning. The manufacturer’s insistence on not getting the components wet is a laughable notion. If you want to maintain any level of hygiene, some degree of moisture is required in the cleaning process. The included instructions suggest using a damp cloth with detergent for cleaning. However, this approach is woefully insufficient given the intricate crevices and hard-to-reach areas within the slicer. It’s practically impossible to ensure a thorough clean without disassembling the machine, which is discouraged.Overall, I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the Weston Electric Meat Slicer. Its cheap construction, flimsy components, and unsanitary design make it a kitchen gadget that I regret purchasing. I can’t stress enough how important it is to prioritize food safety, and this slicer clearly falls short in that regard. Save yourself the frustration and potential health risks by avoiding this product entirely.
The media could not be loaded.  Effortlessly shaved my beef brisket into thin slices. It is similar to other slicers to clean. I plan to be gentle using it to make sure the plastic parts last. It is a bit noisier than I was expecting, but the noise is tolerable. Overall the value for what I paid compared to much more expensive commercial machines is very good.
I liked just about everything about the product.
Funciona bien cumple para uso doméstico
Gave it as a present but used once since christmas.

The Weston 61-0901-W Heavy Duty Meat Slicer is a suitable option if you are searching for a deli slicer that can be used to prepare jerky that is more durable.

This slicer features a 9-inch blade, which may not be significantly more significant than the other options listed with 7-7.5-inch blades, but that extra inch makes all the difference when it comes to the original cuts of meat that can be sliced.

This entails less preparation, as you can place your pre-sliced meat chunk on the food pusher and wait for your delicious jerky to arrive.

In addition, the deli slicer is constructed of stainless steel and has a corrosion-resistant coating. This ensures that your kitchen appliance is easy to clean and will last many years.

This option is also advantageous due to its compact size and portability. Even though the blade is slightly larger than other options and is marketed as heavy-duty, it can be assembled in a way that makes it portable and easy to use.

Key Features
  • Powerful with stainless steel 9″ serrated rotary blade powered by a 200 watt belt-driven motor
  • Easily adjust slicing thickness from deli thin to more than .5 inches (1.3 cm)
  • Tilting action makes it easier to remove the blade, and the food pusher is top-rack dishwasher safe
  • Great for hunters, farmers, small retail butchers and anyone who buys food in bulk
PROS
  • Very affordable, given how well-made the slicer is
  • Runs surprisingly quietly.
  • Powerful motor.
  • Not too large, can fit easily on most counters.
CONS
  • Does not come with any sort of item to catch the cut meat.

Easy setup, use, and cleaning. Easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to clean
Good “Bang-for-Your-Buck” Slicer. I bought this slicer expecting it to last me all of six months. I have been proven wrong so far. This little slicer has performed much better than expected. The serrated blade make cutting whole muscle a breeze, even down to lest than an 1/8″ thickness. I have used it for several deli meat loaves and it has delivered consistent width cuts every time. The easily removable blade is a pleasant surprise that I did not think of when buying this, making cleaning almost enjoyable. The body of the machine has minimal cracks and crevices for bits and pieces to work their way into, keeping the machine clean and nice looking. The only thing I would improve about the design is the track system. The metal bars that the holster rolls on are a little flimsy. That being said, as long as you are not abusing the slicer or putting absurdly sized chuck on it you should be more than fine. Great purchase, very happy!
I can understand the frustration but it seems like so many are rating this product off of what. So I gave it 4 stars.First, for those reviewing this with 1-star ratings. I can understand the frustration but it seems like so many are rating this product off of what it can’t do versus what it can. If you’re looking for a deli-style slicer for paper thin cuts with almost no work to it, yes, this product is not for you. There’s a reason commercial slivers cost so much. Ultra thin and well crafted blades with high rpms don’t come cheap. For all the reviewers giving this 5 stars, this really is t as great as everyone makes it out to be. There are some serious design flaws and it takes some work and toying with to get the hang of this product.Pros:(1) will slide better than a knife and more consistent than a mandolin.(2) fairly easy to operate. Cleaning didn’t seem too bad. You can’t put this or any parts in the dishwasher, which is a drawback for home users, but cleaning it didn’t make me feel like it was the end of the world.(3) it will cut near paper thing slices if you handle it the right way(4) slices bread in consistent sized slices. I like that this can act not only as a meat and cheese slicer, but also a bread slicer for my fresh baked loaves(5) does really save you money if you buy deli meats in bulk or cure your own deli meats. And the size is not too bad for a slicer. Fairly small and easily storable. It’s also very light in weight.Cons:(1) major design flaws. The adjustment knob itself seems fine, but the backing where the object to cut slides it weak. It does move during slicing(2) I don’t like the plastic handgaurd. It feels a bit flimsy(3) for something that is only 150w, I feel like inly being able to run it for 10 minutes is a bit frustrating, especially if you have a ton to slice. I understand the nature of the engineering behind it, but for a home – based kitchen appliance one would expect to be able to not have to let the thing “cool off” with such a low wattage rating. This tells me the engineering is not that well thought out.(4) the blade does operate at a low rpm. I suppose it’s not the end of the world for a home product, but i feel like they could have designed this a bit better with a higher rpmSuggestions for use:(1) for anything that it cut, if you want consistent sized slices, I would put the object of slicing a little higher. I know this could become a safety issue, so just think while you slice, and keep in mind you have a blade nearby. I’ve been using about 1/2 in- 1in off the bottom. It definitely yields better and more consistent cuts. I also don’t have anything get stuck in the blade.(2) for paper thin slices, you really need to set this almost near size 0. By following the first suggestion, it’ll get you there. It won’t be consistent, but at least you’ll be close enough to be happy(3) don’t press too hard on the hand guard. I feel like this is one issue that led me to inconsistent slicing.(4) don’t go fast. Doing so will certainly ensure uneven and inconsistent slices. The instructions even direct you to operate slowly. But obviously don’t slice, stop, slice, stop midway. You want one smooth slow pass. This will also get you thereOverall, this is a home kitchen product which is why I did give it a 4 star rating. If this were sold to me as a commercial product, I certainly would be complaining. Heck, the box even specifies to only use this in a home kitchen. If you’re looking to leave your deli and move to home cured or bulk deli meats, then this will get you there. But it does require some playing around with. Don’t expect to open this, shove a hunk of meat on it and expect high quality slices. Just like any non-commercial kitchen product, there will be inconsistencies. But for under $70, I think the quality of the product matches with the price well. You just have to learn how to use it the right way for everything you use it for. I’ve found different speeds of my hand moving and heights really make a difference based on the type of food being sliced.. I know most of us want these things to be intuitive and easy to use, but what can you expect for a kitchen product for less than $100? It does what it needs to do when used in the correct way for each type of food. With all that said, certainly worth the investment so far. I’ll give updates if anything changes.
Customer service blocked repair service now I have junk on my counter.. e. Stopped working, customer service site inquirery filled out form for warranty assistance, attempted to send form and company site immediately blocked my customer service warranty request, with no questions or answers.
ease of lnstalation. works great
Blade dulls quickly. 5 mos. old, used for slicing bread and cooked meat. Used about 15 times and the blade is already dull. Replacement blade runs around $60.00, two thirds of the total cost.Slicer had to be modified so it would not slide around on the counter top.Does not disassemble for adequate cleaning.Bottom line, cheap product. If you want a quality product spend the extra money.
It’s not expensive but not very good. I used my new slicer for the first time today after using a Chef’s Choice for many years. This new machine is lighter and sleeker looking, but after that it’s all down hill. The machine is much noisier than my old one. The “infinite” adjustable guide is nice, but does not hold so even though the first slice is good, each successive slice get’s a little thicker requiring resetting the thickness after nearly every cut. The food tray is made of stainless steal and looks great until you turn a light on about the slicer to be able to see what your cutting. Then the tray works like a mirror blinding the user. If I had to do it over, I would not buy this product.
Works great, clean up is easy wish the base was a bit smaller but it is what it is.

From paper thin to more than a 1/2 in thick. Don’t understand the bad reviews. Mine works great. You do have to have a little patience. If you force the meat in, it will shread and the thickness will be hard to control. I get nice deli style slices. It’s easy to clean. I just remove the tray and the blade and clean them in the sink. The guard at the bottom of the tray collects a verey small amount of meat which is easily cleaned off with a wet, soapy rag and the wiped off.
Major design flaws. This food slicer has some major design flaws. It’s biggest would be the “food holder” #7. It has a arch to it which does not hold the food in place very well and in my opinion should be a flat edge with prongs perhaps. The current design absolutely mutilates beef jerky meat. I’ve tried it four times now and it’s just a failure. I’ve even attempted with the meat semi-frozen. It just shreds the beef. I would give this a F rating.
Good starter model. I use this to slice ham and Turkey for sandwiches. It works good enough and paid for itself in savings within the first couple weeks. I only wish it would slice meat thinner and clean itself 🥴I’ve never owned one before and was unsure if I would continue to use it so I bought one I knew would pay for itself regardless. I love it, so I will give this one to my daughter to try, and I will invest in an upgraded model.
Great slicer. This slicer is very sharp and is easy to adjust. Great quality and it’s nice to have a larger blade.
Uneven “dovetail” cuts. I purchased this because I loved the handle, and was quite pleased with it. It grips better and eases worry of the food shifting or falling out. However, the back plate is quite thin and cheap, so it has some flexibility in it, causing dove tail, wedge cuts of the food due to inability to apply even pressure. Slicing deli thin is impossible with this manufacturing flaw because it will cut only the first 3 or 4 inches being “thicker” and tapering to nothing before the block of cheese finishes going through it. Repeating the process causes more serious wedging. I will probably pass this on to someone who doesn’t have one, someone who doesn’t care about the uneven cuts, but I will not be buying another from this company. Would have been perfect without the cheap bendy back plate. Bummer.
Good slicer for the money but size offers limitations. For light to medium home use it works well. It is restricted on the size of item it will handle for slicing, about 8 inches max. Ran into a problem when I was trying to slice slab bacon. The half belly was about 10 inches wide.
DON’T BUY THIS FOOD SLICER. After receiving our slicer in February 2022 we finally used it on March 1, 2022. We sliced 12 pounds of London Broil for beef jecky. This process took 1 hour and 4 minutes. For 14 years we owned a Cooks slicer from JC Penny’s that we paid $59.99 for and the process would take less than 30 minutes. The Chefman had a larger blade so we thought it would help and be an upgrade. Boy we were WRONG. The gap between blade and slide tray is to large not allowing the blade to slice the meat all the way down to beef jecky thickness, the blade doesn’t line up with the slide tray not allowing the blade to cut all the way through 1″ thick London Broil, leaving a 1/16″ piece of meat at the bottom upcut. We gave this product a 1 star rating since you can’t submit your review without a rating. The real rating of this product ends far in the minus star rating however Amazon won’t put that as a rating choices. Having made beef jecky for over 30 years this slicer is by far the worst you could own.Amazon, the manufacturer, and the seller should be ashamed of their selves for putting such a piece of s**t on the market.
Best Slicer. For years we have had to pay someone to slice our cuts of meat. No longer! This slicer is the BEST. Easy to use, Easily adjust the thickness and easy to clean. Wish we had discovered it years ago. Thank you so very much.
I bought this after I had replaced a Techwood Slicer from Amazon only 10 months old which failed. This Chefman Unit is very well built, powerful and cuts very efficiently. A heavy unit that feels solid on the counter. I am very pleased and recommend purchase.
Nice product, not sure how to sharpen serrated round cutting blade. Third time using this and now a clunking vibration when moving the cutting tray. Not good. Clear Plastic plate has a gap and the roller it rides on with the tray is causing wear and rough movement. Not sure about this anymore
This product was great. Very clean cuts, little meat waste. Easy to take apart for cleaning.
This was beyond bad .Completely unfit for purpose .The motor stalled with a small chunk of prosciutto. It was simply unstable .
The only thing I would have liked to be included is a platter to catch the sliced food. Otherwise it seems to be a good machine and good value.

The Chefman Die-Cast Electric Deli Slicer may be the best option if you want a more compact and affordable deli slicer in your home kitchen to prepare jerky (among other foods).

There are many advantages to a smaller deli slicer, including the ability to move it around the kitchen, the storage space that will be saved, and the ease with which a single person can use it without needing assistance from a friend or family member.

In addition, the die-cast aluminum creates a sturdy blade that is simple to clean. Since most of your other pots, pans, and kitchen utensils are made of this material, you should have no trouble cleaning them.

The fact that the blade is detachable makes it even simpler. This electric deli slicer operates at 180W, indicating a sufficient power source for slicing your meat. Adjustable settings allow for thick or thin jerky (or other types of meat, cheese, bread, vegetables, etc.).

Are you looking to invest a small amount of your kitchen space while still receiving an excellent value for your jerky? This option may be suitable for you.

Nesco Gets It Right. I waited to post a review until I used this slicer a few times. I have cut a ham into breakfast steaks, a pork loin into chops, 2 London broils into jerky strips, and a bottom round roast beef into deli slices. The machine performed flawlessly. I was initially concerned about the manual warning against running it for more than 10 minutes at a time, but not now – it makes short quick work of everything. Nothing I have cut came anywhere close to taking 10 minutes. While there are several competing brands and models available on Amazon, all with well deserved 4+ star ratings, few have the Nesco FS250’s large 8.7″ blade, fewer still have an all metal chassis, and fewer yet have a professional-style metal pusher/handle assembly. After 30 years of managing and owning restaurants, I found those features irresistible. Yes, when it comes to slicers, size matters. A lot. So does power, and nothing in this price range surpasses the Nesco FS250’s 180 watts of power. The ham was cut cold right out of the wrapper. One half-inch thick slice makes a perfect breakfast steak, grill two for a nice dinner, and diced up or julienned they’re great for making omelets and chef salads. The London broil and pork loin were defrosted to a firm, semi-frozen state. I agree with a lot of other reviewers – semi-frozen works best with home slicers. The completely defrosted bottom round roast (3.5 lbs.) was seasoned and put in the oven at 480 degrees for 17 minutes, then the oven was turned off and the meat cooked in the steadily cooling oven until it was cool enough to touch the pan – a perfect rare-medium rare 130 degrees on the meat thermometer. I then put the cooked roast in the freezer for a few hours to firm it up, then cut the strings, and trimmed off the little bit of bottom fat. It sliced perfectly – wafer thin, with almost no crumbling. Between me and the dog, about half of it never made it back to the refrigerator. With everything I cut, the thickness control knob remained as set and the support plaque didn’t bend, nothing wandered or lost setting – slices were uniform – that’s something a few competing machines have a problem with. And the big, sharp blade spins fast enough so it didn’t yank the meat around – the spiked metal pusher kept everything under control.Cleanup is a breeze – everything comes apart and reassembles easily without needing any tools. And there’s just something nice about working with a steel/aluminum product for a change. This machine has a strong, professional appearance – it makes the whole kitchen look sharp. And it performs perfectly for my purposes. Buy it! And live happily ever after.
Buy a Proven Name. I purchased this slicer mainly on the Nesco name. My family has Nesco roasters that have been passed down for generations. Needless to say, I went into this with great expectations. I was absolutely correct. It sliced my roast beef, thin, without issue. I worried there would be “saw” marks in the meat (like a spiral sliced ham), but the cuts were smooth. Cleanup was not difficult. Just common sense when cleaning anything with a lot of nooks and crannies. The price was good in comparison to others from companies with whose names I was unfamiliar. Having worked with Hobart slicers in previous jobs I liked the look of this miniature version. Time will tell about durability, but I take good care of my small appliances and they usually live a long, happy life with me. My rule of thumb is always to try to purchase a name I know and trust. I was totally correct in this instance.
Good for the price. The slicer works fine. My only issue is the meat/product carrier is somewhat flimsy. However for my purposes the blade cuts through easily and clean up is no issue.
It’s perfect for in home use with a family of 6 or less. This item is the perfect value for the price. It does everything it needs to, it’s easy to clean, and easy to store.Tips for use: If you’ve never worked in a kitchen you won’t understand the mechanics. This is a small semi-automatic deli slicer. Just like with every deli slicer it’s not designed for hard frozen food and doesn’t work well with thawed raw meat. It’s best to use with partially frozen meat, cooked meat, and raw veggies.Note: this slicer is not always even. You may need to adjust your speed and pressure to keep thick slices (meat especially) uniform. The only negative I have for this item is that it doesn’t get thick enough. I’d love to be able to cut fat steaks with it, but I’m restricted to about an inch size cut.
Not even close to a commercial grade slicer. I’ve owned restaurants and had Globe and Berkel slicers. I know what a “real” or quality slicer is. Well, I am out of the business now, but I wanted a slicer for infrequent home use. I bought this Nesco after previously buying an even junkier home slicer, hoping it would bridge the distance between commercial and home slicers. Nope, not even close. This Nesco (a company I actually like) is a disappointment to me. It’s lightweight, clunky, and you have to be very careful. It’s difficult to get consistent thin slices with this thing. You have to go very slow, or the slices will distort if you apply any pressure. The carriage/pusher isn’t smooth and sturdy like a commercial slicer. I understand it’s not supposed to be, except they try to make it look like it is. Cleanup is OK. It is good for the under $100 slicers, but that’s it. The bottom line is, if you want professional results, you are going to fork out around $300 to get a generic commercial or “real” slicer.
Pros: cuts meat thin for beef jerky and deli cuts, motor doesn’t slow down. Good value for the $100-$200 price range.Cons: motor spins slower than commercial units but still powerful for the job.
Excelente calidad
The only experience I have had with a meat slicer is my old Rival with a 6 inch serrated blade. I had this machine for 30 years before giving it to one of my kids. One of the reasons for switching is I want to move up to a larger blade. I like it for slicing beef round roasts and pork loins plus I smoke my own bacon, I then package the meat portions in a vacuum machine for hot pork sandwiches or whatever. The machine seems to be decently made and as other have said very easy to clean, in fact that was the feature that attracted me and it is really so, especially compared to my old unit that needed to be dismantled using a screw driver to clean it, this is as stated by others very easy to clean. I gave it three stars because it has a downside, to me in concern with my machine I got is a bad one. The first test was slicing cooked and fridge cooled pork loins at a thickness of 1/8 inch. The machine bogged down sufficiently enough that my wife looked up and asked if I was jamming it. I said no, I am not even putting any pressure on the blade at all.My first thought was if this is 250 watts they must be a lot smaller in China than here. After I cut all my meat at a much slower pace than my old smaller machine I got looking at it when I was cleaning it. The problem was easy to see, the blade is dull. My old machine had a six inch Solingen blade, it was still razor sharp after 30 years, the blade on this Nesco machine is dull, or at least mine is dull. I literally took the blade off the machine dragged it across the palm of my hand and nothing, it is that dull. That explains the motor laboring to cut. I guess the easiest example is a perry knife one side is sharp and the back side isn’t, my machines blade is the back side of the perry knife. So my options are to send it back and hope a replacement is better, try to find out if a 8.7 Solingen blade or other brand blade would interchange, dont know if they are all interchangeable between machine manufacturers or finally take my box of sharpening hones and see if I can sharpen the existing blade, So my machine is good, the blade is not, even the blade has a wobble of just under a 1/16 inch, if I can’t sharpen/replace the blade I don’t see a long motor life. Others have stated they can cut frozen meat, that sort of makes me think I got a bum blade??———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————I usually don’t do a follow-up, in fact I think this is my first one. I have since sharpened the blade by using several grit stones on the blade edge while running the machine. This has worked out quite well and has allowed me to put a much finer edge on the blade itself. I have also used it since to slice and shave ham, roast beef and pork since sharpening the blade. The machine works a whole lot better and I feel it is now much better value. Mine might have been a stand alone case, but as far as the performance goes I am quite pleased for the money and as such have raised my rating to 4 stars instead of 3.
Los cortes salen muy bien, solo que al cortar no se puede poner la mas mínima fuerza por que se alenta y pierde la calibración, pero aún así hace su funcion, solo es acostumbrarse.

Great. Oh man, this thing works like a dream! I wanted to slice bread I buy in loaves and it does a great job. I manually sliced the loaf in half with a bread knife first in order to use the “Piece holder.” (It only allows for about 6 inches of food on the cutting table) The instructions do say not to run it more than 10 minutes but that was plenty of time to slice two loaves. The only thing I am leery of is cleaning the cutting blade. It comes off the machine very easily but it’s hard to get a good grip on it while cleaning. It would be nice if the blade had some way to hold it safely to clean it.
Amazingly Fast Shipping (“The Nerds”). I bought this slicer on a Wednesday morning. It was delivered Friday by 11:30am. Granted, it ships from Florida, and it only had to go to Georgia, but that is impressive regardless for standard shipping. My estimated delivery was late next week at the earliest. I actually got the package before amazon updated the status of my order to shipped. Anyway, I have not used the slicer yet. I have kept low expectations as per the recommendations of the other 83 before me who have reviewed this slicer. The slicer looks very much like the picture but is a little different. If you want to know what the slicer looks like, home depot currently carries this slicer for $80 and is model number PS77711. You can also search for “professional series slicer”. The main differences from the picture that I can see is that the blade is not serrated, and the suction cups are clear instead of black. Also, the frame of the slicer isn’t rounded off to be flush with the blade at the top right side as shown in the picture on amazon. Mine extends a little beyond the blade and is black in color, so it appears that there is a little black triangular piece outside the blade at the top right. This doesn’t impact the performance of the device, I’m just pointing out that the device in the picture on amazon is slightly different. All in all, I’m excited to give it a try tonight. I’ll try to post an update this weekend.UPDATE: Ok, I cooked a sirloin tip roast and couldn’t wait till the morning to cut it. My plan was to chill the meat like everyone said, but I was too excited. The meat was firm enough though to get decent cuts. Alright, here’s my review. The rotational speed of the blade is fine, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The blade is super sharp and I think people think they can just zip right through it like they see the people at the deli do. This is not the same machine. my cuts took about 1 second per pass. “onethousand one” is not a slow cut. Next, my backstop that the meat rests against when you slide the meat into the blade was not 100% aligned with the blade. It did not take much to bend it back slightly, leaving a little bit of lean to compensate for the pressure used when pushing the meat towards the blade. I read on one review that it only takes a couple slices to learn the little tricks to slicing consistently with this slicer. They were somewhat correct. I was not able to make consistent cuts every pass with this slicer and the warm meat I was using on my first try. When I say “consistent”, I mean exactly the same. Sometimes my cuts were 1/16″ and sometimes they were 1/8″ depending on the pressure I used when pressing the meat through the blade. After a while the meat shifts with the spin of the blade, and you will notice that some cuts will be appropriately thick at the start, but shave down to nothing on the trailing end. This triangular type cut I’ve noticed happens even at the deli though, and I believe is hard to avoid with any slicer. I’ve seen them on every meat slicer review on youtube that attempts to make very thin cuts, which is all that I was interested in doing with my meat slicer. I can do everything else with a knife but make these 1/16″ cuts. All in all, I’m very satisfied. I’m not doing cart-wheels, but I bought this slicer to do a job, and it did it. I didn’t want to pay $100+ for the small convenience of cutting meat thin, and I’m happy that I took a chance on affordable model. Do I believe that my experience would have been better with a more expensive model, yes. Would it have been worth the extra $40+?…no. This slicer is a bargain for it’s price. If money is a significant factor in your purchasing of a slicer, I would highly recommend this model. It’s my humble opinion that your experience won’t be better enough to justify the additional cost, unless you are willing to spend $500+ on a professional type model that is close to the slicers they have in grocery stores. This slicer does have it’s flaws, but they are minor, and I argue that they would most likely be present in the other models meant for home use. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Cleanup, wasn’t that hard. Yes, turn the circle screw clockwise to unscrew it, and everything comes off fine. There was some little pieces of meat and blood that got behind the blade. Nothing I couldn’t get with a rag. Cleaning this device isn’t just a simple wipe down and you’re done. You do have to take some car to get in the little corners, but maximum time I would estimate at 3-4 minutes to have it clean. Anyway. I don’t regret purchasing this machine. I don’t believe you will either.
Continental Slicer deserves an decent rating. I have used my slicer twice now. It has worked well both times so far and was used to slice down roast beef. Something you cannot seem to find in a store any more; well at least not the nice rare non-marinated kind that you use to find years ago. I’m not crazy about the plastic piece that is used to hold the meat in place as it is not very stable when slicing and could probably be engineered a bit better. My other annoyance is that the meat just falls of the back of the machine so you must reach around every once in a while and clear out the slices to make room for more. Would seem to be a better choice to have it drop in front of the machine rather than the rear. For the price of the machine is seems sturdy although it does have a bit of a smell when operating. The blade is attached by 3 phillip’s screws which are easily removed in order to clean the blade. The machine is fairly easy to clean once the blade is removed and there is no threat of cutting oneself. It wipes down easily as it’s coating is very smooth. The sliding mechanism lifts forward to clean out the gap between it and the machine. The other oddity I noted was in the blade speed, it moves very slowly although I have not had any issues slicing so far it seems odd that it turns so slowly unlike those we are all use to seeing at our local deli.
This is what I wanted. I bought this because it says it will slice meats, cheeses, vegetables, it works great for the meat and tomatoes so far.I can’t wait to try other things.
Continental PS77711 Professional Series Deli Slicer. Works well for the money, I was hoping that it would be “Professional” as the list in the description but at the price I should have known.Pros: it cuts well and does what I needed when cutting salamis and summer sausage. It’s smaller and easy to use. Pretty easy to clean. This will do what I bought it for.Cons: Does not cut everything uniform, the design is a little flimsy and has some give so the slices can have some variance to them. Don’t think I would try to cut block cheese with this, the motor turns a little slower and as sticky as cheese is I’m not sure it would cut through a block without shutting down. Where the slices come out gets a little dirty as you cut a bunch of product, would have been nice to have a diverter to push the meat right out to a tray.Just be cautious if you want this unit to do heavy cutting on a daily basis, not sure it will do that kind of work. I would still recommend this to anyone wanting a good priced unit to do the occasional cutting. With this you get what you pay for.
Works good for slicing up jerky meat
Works great, recommend my friends to buy this
Very happy with this slicer, I was worried it wouldn’t produce very thin cuts but it does! Hoping the strength in the motor lasts but so far great purchase
Great quality easy using

Just not very good. This is cheap and does not slice very well. I was not expecting a deli grade unit, but this is almost worthless. I will keep trying it a few times to see if me getting more used to it makes it any better, but plain and simple, it is a pretty cheap piece of…well, you know.
JUNK – Fell apart after 2 uses. Don’t waste your money – the unit fell apart after only two uses.

The ZENSTYLE Premium Electric Meat Slicer will be the subject of the following review on our list of the best meat slicers. While this is a decent meat slicer, the main reason we included it in this article was its affordable price.

If you’ve been comparing the other products we’ve reviewed for this list, you may have noticed that the ZENSTYLE is the most affordable option we’ve examined.

Despite being reasonably priced, the ZENSTYLE Premium Electric Meat Slicer offers several decent features. One of our favorite features is the variety of options available for selecting the thickness of your meat.

Using the dial conveniently located on the side of the meat slicer, you can select between thickness settings ranging from 1mm to 15mm. Similarly, many of the meat slicers on this list have been criticized for being difficult to clean. Fortunately, this is not an issue with the ZENSTYLE Premium Electric Meat Slicer, as it is straightforward to disassemble and clean.

If you are on a tight budget, then the ZENSTYLE Premium Electric Meat Slicer is your best option. Those accustomed to shopping on a budget may be aware that you typically must sacrifice some features when purchasing something on the cheaper side. This holds for this particular meat slicer.

Unfortunately, the ZENSTYLE Premium Electric Meat Slicer lacks sufficient power. This becomes especially apparent compared to most of the other options we have examined so far.

Key Features
  • 7.5-inch sharp blade with 150 watts power rating provides high quality, fast, high yield slicing power, and continuous slicing operation
  • 13.78” x 10.63” x 11.02” compact design to save your space for convenient use
  • Easy to operate the slicer by ON/OFF switch
  • Blade and food holder can be removed for easier cleaning
  • Adjustable thickness from 1mm to 15mm by adjust knob
  • Suitable for deli, bread, roasts, vegetables, fruits, cheeses and more (Boneless)
  • Ideal personal use or commercial use slicer machine choice
PROS
  • Extremely affordable meat slicer.
  • Great for home use and small applications.
  • Quite simple and safe to operate.
  • Large variety of thickness options.
  • Easy to pull apart for cleaning.
CONS
  • Could be a bit more powerful.

Best Meat Slicer For Jerky – FAQs

Here are the responses to some frequently asked questions you might have.

There are several excellent beef cuts for making beef jerky. Nevertheless, some are superior to others.

The lower and upper rounds of beef are ideal for beef jerky. This is because they are low-fat and flavorful, precisely what you want in a good jerky.

In addition to rounds, sirloin tips may also be used. It is tender and lean but significantly more expensive than other cuts.

Beef jerky should always be prepared in the same manner as steak. If uncertain, you should always proceed against the grain.

This is because it makes the meat more tender. Cutting against the grain will make the meat less tender and chewier. Although it is still edible, the flavor will be diminished.

When beef jerky is cut with the grain, it is more challenging to consume. However, if it is cut across the grain, it will shatter much more quickly.

Yes, you can use a meat slicer to make jerky. However, a few things to keep in mind when using a meat slicer to make jerky. First, you will need to choose a slicing blade that is sharp enough to slice the meat thinly. Second, you will need to be careful when slicing the meat so that you do not cut yourself. Third, you will need to make sure that the meat is dry before slicing it.

The best type of meat to use for making jerky is lean meat. This is because lean meat has less fat, so it will not go wrong as quickly. Additionally, lean meat will produce more jerky than fatty meat.

The best way to slice the meat thinly is to use a sharp knife:

  1. You will need to freeze the meat for a few hours. This will make it easier to slice.
  2. You will need to cut the meat against the grain carefully.
  3. You will need to cut the meat as thinly as possible.

The best way to dry the meat before slicing it is to place it in the freezer for a few hours. This will help to remove any moisture from the meat.

Yes, you can use a dehydrator to dry the meat. However, you will need to ensure that the dehydrator is set to the correct temperature. Additionally, you will need to check the meat frequently to ensure it is not overcooked.

Yes, you can use an oven to dry the meat. However, you must set the oven to the lowest possible setting. Additionally, you will need to open the oven door occasionally to allow the moisture to escape.

Yes, you can use a smoker to dry the meat. However, you will need to ensure that the smoker’s temperature is set to the correct level. Additionally, you will need to check the meat frequently to ensure it is not overcooked.

The best way to store jerky is in an airtight container. This will help to keep the jerky fresh for a more extended period. Additionally, you may want to store the jerky in the fridge or freezer if you are not planning on eating it right away.

Conclusion

Making jerky is a wonderful way to preserve meat, and a meat slicer is the best way to get evenly sliced pieces of meat that will dry properly. Jerky needs to be thinly sliced so that it will dehydrate, and a meat slicer can give you perfectly even slices every time.

Meat slicers come in many sizes and styles, so you can find one that will fit your needs perfectly. If you plan to make a lot of jerkies, you may want to invest in a commercial-grade meat slicer. These slicers are built to handle copious quantities of meat, and they will make the process go much faster.

If you only plan to make jerky occasionally, then a home meat slicer will be simply fine. These slicers are much less expensive and will still do an excellent job slicing the meat evenly.

No matter what type of meat slicer you choose, it is essential to ensure that it is sharp. A dull blade will not slice the meat evenly, and it can cause the jerky to come out uneven. It is also essential to clean the slicer thoroughly after each use to prevent bacteria from growing on the blade.

Investing in a good-quality meat slicer is a great way to ensure that your jerky turns out perfectly every time. With a slicer, you can get evenly sliced pieces of meat that will dry, and you will not have to worry about the blade is dull or dirty.
